How do YOU get rid of the hiccups?

So many methods. Interesting.

My DD came up with a good one that has worked when others do not - though I haven't tried the peanut butter cure.

Hold a glass of water in both hands, put it to your mouth, then place a finger in each ear until they are plugged up and sound hollow, and drink some water slowly. Something about doing all of that at once and having your ears solidly plugged stops hiccups dead. Works for all of us and everyone we have suggested it to who has tried it.

How do YOU get rid of the hiccups?

I take a sip of water, tilt my head back, and swallow. Works 95% of the time. If you don't have water, any beverage will work. If you don't have any beverages, it's gross, but, saliva works as well if you have enough.

I have always put a paper towel over a glass of water and taken a sip. It works every time.
