getting rid of the hiccups?

Is there anyway to do this? DD has them several times a day, sometimes for 10-15 mins at a time.

Re: getting rid of the hiccups?

Sometimes they just wouldn't go away...the only thing we found that worked sometimes was giving her a pacifier

My ped once recommended given my ds a little bit of water when he would get them. (only like an oz of water)

Re: getting rid of the hiccups?

gripe water....just one mouthful would get rid of it for DS, says right on the bottle too.

Our Ped said a mouthful of warm water as well and that also worked.

DS had them really bad at the begining, I hated it.

The ped said they fade around 6 weeks old, sure enough, he only gets them once in a while now.

Re: getting rid of the hiccups?

Paige always had the hiccups and she still does. At least once a day. She is 7 months. Anyway, I always give her a bottle. It always works. Sometimes i just let them go away on their own.

Re: getting rid of the hiccups?

He got them a lot when he was smaller and sometime they wouldn't go away, but the only thing that ever helped was a little water. Now at 4.5 months, he hardly ever gets them, but a little water does the trick.
