How are you decorating your home for fall this year?
Are you a harvest type decorator with bales of hay, scarecrows, pumpkins, mums sort of person? Or strickly spooky scary stuff for halloween.
I'd like to try the harvest look this year.

I'm more harvest right now. Maybe as the kids get bigger I'll be more into plane old Halloween.
Maybe I can convince DH to get a bail of hay and I can make a scarecrow out of some old clothes.

Mostly harvest themed. I put 3 scarecrows in my front landscaping and mums in pots on the steps. But I also put a "Happy Halloween" sign on the front door and a big spider and web in our bay window. But those come down after halloween, the scarecrows stay out until I start decorating for Christmas.
ETA: I don't put out pumpkins anymore. The first year we lived here I had one out on the steps along with the mums and some animal attacked it during the night and it was such a mess to clean up.

I think I am passing fall this year since I am due in mid October. I just don't have the energy this year - but if I did have energy I would do the harvest look with bales of hay.
I am hoping that I can decorate full force for Xmas this year!

i have harvest out til thanksgiving but closer to halloween I have some decorations that i put up. Then i take those down and leave harvest up. so i guess u can say i am both

nope.... it wouldn't go with our mod black/red decor..... We'd need a bit more traditional feel for that to work.....
the only season we decorate for is Christmas........

I normally do the harvest look  it's my favorite decorating season! I do the bale of hay, a corn stalk,pumpkins, mums, leaves on my staircase railings, the whole 9 yards!

Well since we will be in our first house for the fall season (and I love fall), I will decorate with pumpkins and mums probably. And it will be our 1 year wedding anniversary in Oct., so it will be exciting to decorate our house.

I love the whole harvest theme... We go out east every year and get a great deal on HUGE mums that I plant all around my yard. I also have my stalks and bails of hay . Along the pumpkins.... Love it!!!!! It's my favorite time of year!!!!

I have more harvest type stuff. I have a few Halloween decorations, but most are antiques from my dad and some wooden Halloween signs.
I have lots of amber/orangey stuff, apples, pumpkins, leaves. Love the fall stuff.

I've done both. The last Fall we lived in our townhouse DH went all out & made it look like a haunted house for the trick or treaters-we used to get TONS of them there.
Now I usually do more harvest type stuff with a few cutesy halloween things that I put away right after halloween.

I decorate for fall during mid september (a harvest theme)
Mid october I bring out my Halloween decorations
November 1st the Halloween decorations go away and I put up a few Thanksgiving Accents
Dec 1st those go down and Christmas decorations go up.... I love this time of year

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the Harvest look, I find the colors so beautiful. I can't wait for the hay, pumpkins and fall foliage
