Yep! I'm thinking of throwing a rinse over them for Winter b/c DH swears I look best with it dark, but I hesitate, b/c when I have gone back to dark brown I always regret it! LOL!

I did go all dark and covered my highlights and roots, but I felt like I looked washed out. I naturally have dark roots, so without them I thought my hair looked fake, too monotone for me.

Nay!

It's amazing, though, what highlights or a cut does for your face. I look soooo different with long, dark hair.

But thanks, doll! My hair person would be like..."You're covering my work of art?" They probably get annoyed when they do it, and then you ask them to throw a rinse on it!Chat Icon

it could be that they hate us spending $$$ on highlights. It's expensive!

Yeah, I've done that. I felt bad, so I did the re-color myself at home, but then I ended up going back to have my hair girl fix it, b/c it was just worse. That really pisses them off when you do that.... Chat Icon

so funny you posted this. i just got my hair done...highlights and lowlights..it is like a light brown and i love it. dh continues to say that he likes my hair dark (my natural color) and I HATE it dark. He said that the dark hair brings out my eyes, but it just makes me feel pale.

i just started getting highlights again and i'm loving it! going tomorrow for a touch up and want to add some lowlights also. it brightens up my face more than having one color. i must say, it's expensive to keep up

what exactly are low lights?? I'm thinking of getting HIghlights for the first time. Nothing too drastic! I'm looking for somewhere that does a good job in the massapequa, seafors or merrick area.

Re: Hair--Highlights or all one color...yay or nay?

all one shade of dark brown for me

after years of high lights they wrecked my hair and my bank account

I do use self tanner on my face to combat the washed out feeling I get in the winter

Re: Hair--Highlights or all one color...yay or nay?

For me right now it's highlights, they liven up my face. I don't mind my hair all one color if it is a dark color though, but I seem to be the only one who thinks I look good that way. lol.

Re: Hair--Highlights or all one color...yay or nay?

I just got rid of most of my highlights - realized I hated it so put them back in again four weeks later - waste of $$ - so def with highlights!

Re: Hair--Highlights or all one color...yay or nay?

I had highlights for years and this past September, I went back to my natural color -so dark brown, it's almost black.

I miss my highlights every time I look in the mirror. I just feel prettier with them in, but since my hair is sooooo dark, it takes a ton of money and effort to keep them as light as I like them.

I am toying with the idea of putting them back in, though. I keep gong back and forth.

my natural color is dirty blonde. very drab and dull. i highlight (partials) 2x a year.

i really think it depends on the natual color in re: to the decision to highlight or color.

Re: Hair--Highlights or all one color...yay or nay?

got my highlights done tonight. my girl did my highlights with the foil and then dyed the other parts darker draw to cover the grey. it looks great, i love it! i love the contrast of the 2 colors and it looks pretty natural. so when i came home, DH said he likes my hair darker Chat Icon
