Food for parents -party at a place - ETD to clarify...

ETD to clarify -I'm not sure it sounds like some people are talking about pizza for everyone - the pizza for the kids is included so I just need to order for the parents. We have 23 kids - but it breaks down to about 14 families - b.c some of the kids are bringing siblings - I don't have to worry about the kids b.c their pizza is included in the price of the package.

I have to order the food by tomorrow which is why I'm trying to figure this out.

Last time we order WAY too much pizza for the adults - and went home with like 3 pies.

So this year I don't want to end up with too much left over.

If you have 22 kids - 14 families coming (of the 22 several are bringing a sibling - hence the 14 families) - so I don't know if it will be 14 adults in addition to DH and I, and 2 grandmothers and 1 grandfather - or if some of the parents will both attend - making it closer to 25 adults before DH and I etc.

How do you all usually judge that? How many pizzas? Is 2 enough? Last time I can't remember how much we ordered but we went home with a ridiculous amount. It is also 25 a pie (b.c it includes drinks) so I don't want to go crazy - party is 10-12 - so late morning early afternoon. Whenever I go it seems like either no one is eating or everyone is eating.

Great question, I need to know this for next week! I'm the type to order way too much for JUST IN CASE!

I would order 3 pies that way you would have at least 1 slice per person

Ugh that is what I thought but I just hate to spend $75 when I have a feeling we will be lucky to go through 1 pie.

Any other options for the adults other than pizza? Like coffee cake or something?

Or what about bagels? Bagels should be cheaper, and if they don't go at least you can toss them in the freezer and enjoy them later.

i recently went through this and posted a similar question here...

http://www.lifamilies.com/chat/topic.aspx?&P=1&ID=654207&Highlight=#P7539950

i think i ordered 5 pies all cut in mini slices, we went home with about 2 i think, but froze them and had leftovers the following weeks!

to feed the adults we had a veggie platter, fruit platter (also for the kids) and chips and dip. hardly any of the parents stayed, and surprisingly we did not have that much left over (after we all came home and nibbled on the rest, family was in town).

At least 3 pies.

We had a party for the same time on a saturday and we had 16 kids. We only ordered 2 pies for the kids only and got sandwiches for the adults. All the pizza was gone but we had some sandwiches left. I also did cupcakes for the kids and cake for the adults and we had a ton leftover. Just cake or just the cupcakes would probably have been enough.

You have more kids than we had. I'd say at least 3 pies. If I were you, I'd order 4. I always prefer to have too much vs too little.
