dont want 2 get taken advantage of when I go 2 lease my next car so my ?? is
what is the important info/tips I need to know before I go into a car dealership?
taxes, gap insurance, sticker price, etc...
I know they need to make commission but I just feel like if I do wind up going in myself, they will take advantage.. (ive seen it happen before with my friend)
if any of you or your DH know any tips please let me know!! TIA

when you get to the upsell man say NO to everything but discount rental cars....yeaaaa we said no to that and ended up changing it when we got screwed. every dealer works with hertz or enterprize. if you go to a dealer that does not offer this...keep a movin'!
15000 is the milage everyone gets unless they hardly use the car.
don't fall for the upsell man's bs and negotiate!! good luck!
ETA: Don't go alone...when they see a woman come in they also see $$$$$ (dollar signs)

It seems like they have a lot of room to bargain, even on leases.
We got our guy down almost $100/month...so bargain, bargain, bargain!

yw, my dad taught me most of my car knowledge when he leased a car for me when i was younger....i learned about the rental car thing too late but i have it now! (knock i woood spit spit i don't need it)

Quite frankly my darling, I would definately take a member of the opposite sex with you. I am quite fiesty when it comes to sales people, but they have a way of mesmerizing you for some reason.
Ask them "To the penny, how much do I have to put down?"
Ask them what the buyout is?
Ask them what your monthly payment is going to be, when they answer, tell them you cannot go that high, whatever it may be, and it needs to be brought down.
They are going to offer you extras, when they do, tell them you cant afford anything else, but if they throw such and such in, they may have a deal.
Dont let them fool you into saying they are "GIVING YOU" anything. They are just going to add something, and factor it into your monthly payment.

This happened to me...I went into Acura and the guy treated me like I was a joke...like I knew nothing, like I couldn't afford it. I was soooooo MAD!!!!
I'd like to bump into him now with my Lexus!

I have no idea what SUV I want yet.. thats still up in the air.
i figure since school is a month away - my lease ends beginning of Oct so I figuie I would research it and make sure I am up on the info..
I will NOT go alone... I will bring a male. it just s u c k s that i have to do that...

I was told not to put any money down on a lease because if the car is totaled you will lose the money! The guy at Toyota actually told me this.. he was very helpful and taught me a lot!
Found an article online that says the same thing!

300 more a month for how many months?
That can't be right.
When I Was looking into leasing a RAV4, the price was about $80-90 a month more with putting down nothing compared with than putting $3K down for a 3 year lease.
It is the same cost... leave the money in the bank you would have put down and use it to pay the extra each month.

Also, ask how much the dealer holdback is? That is the money the dealership gets from Nissan/GM/Toyota, etc, when the car is sold. If they are going to get $500 back when the car sells, then its possible to lower the price of your car by that much

if you could ask your husband, how much can they truly negotiate the sticker price of a car? thats what I keep hearing- negotiate the sticker price.....

I've never leased but I wanted to wish you luck!!
When I was car shopping with DH, I had one salesman not even acknowlege me, even when I told him the car was for me and I was buying it! He just kept talking to DH like I wasn't there.
