I do get annoyed. They are NOT MY GUESTS. Park somewhere else so if I have visitor they can park in front of my house.

What really bugs me is a house that is located 2 houses down. They have at least 5 cars ALL THE TIME. I don't know how many families live in that house but I can't stand it. They park in front of our house and my neighboors. We are all annoyed.

If you have designated spots you have the right to be po'd. In Lorich's old neighborhood they did not have designated spots and had to park on the street....her crazy neighbor used to call the cops when people parked in front of her house.

I live in Queens but am lucky enough to have a driveway. The "spot" in front of my house can't fit even a compact car, since it will block my driveway. So I do get upset when people park there because most of their car is in my driveway and I can't get my car out of the driveway. I have called 311 so many times because I can't get out.

Thankfully, our neighbors are courteous about parking. They'll leave the appropriate space between vehicles so we can all fit during alternate side parking. It's the visitors who have issues.

What really bothers me is when our neighbor's visitors park in our driveway spot or park behind us so that we can't get out.

It only bothers me when my neighbor (2 married adults) park all 3 of their cars in the street and their driveway is empty!

I had family that lived in Queens and I know what it was like to park down the block and walk but it annoys me still

Must be a nice part of Queens if you only have to walk down the blokc in my nieghborhood you have to circle the block 10 times and posisbly get a spot around the corner.

And we have a aprty driveway, so we don't even have the option of parking it there. You cna literally drive around for hours looking for a spot. it's like manhattan!

Same here. I cram my car wherever I can. I was laughing when I was reading this thread. If I can park less than a 10 minute walk from my apartment, I consider that a victory.

If it is a friend/family member visiting a neighbor on occassion, I have no problem. It doesn't even bother me if they have a party and it takes up the street (b/c we too have done this). When it does bother me is when someone who lives in a neighboring house parks in front of our house EVERY night. The son of the people across the street from us parked in front of our house right in the middle every night and that bugged me b/c then we had guests they had to park further away. He stopped though...my DH and I would complain about it loudly and I think he got the hint

I live in Queens - the area I am from is not as congested as some other areas in Queens. I don't mind if someone parks in front of my house - we don't own the spot...its communal space


We have a big driveway so we park there. HOWEVER, my biggest pet peeve is people who have driveways that DON'T park in them and people who save spots...my girlfriend has this neighbor that puts her garbage cans in the street so that no one can park in front of her house...while her driveway sits EMPTY
