Does anyone think this is as strange as I do?
A family member of mine and her dh have never been on vacation by themselves. Even their wedding was a destination wedding and they didn’t stay any extra time. He surprised her with a trip for her bday and at first I thought they went alone but nope pictures popped up on fb and they are with another couple. I don’t know maybe I’m weird but I only like my dh and Kids for vacations. Occasionally a family or friend trip is fun but not all the time.
They also have a 3 yr old and they go on vacation every 3 months for about a week each time. They have bought her once for her 1st bday. She stays home with 5 different people and then they complain she is super clingy when they get home.
Totally different lifestyle and I try really hard not to judge but it’s hard.

Yes, I think that's weird. It's weirder that they leave their kid home so often, IMO.

Weird they never vacation alone, and weird they always leave their child (I can see once in awhile but not every vacation and for that frequency)

Random friends. They even went to an out of state wedding and bought friends with them.

Idk...my DC has a friend who’s parents go away frequently. They always seem very happy and relaxed! Maybe they’ve got something figured out.

Does anyone think this is as strange as I do?
I don’t think it’s that weird. We frequently travel with family and friends. Every year, we do a beach vacation with my DH’s college friends and for the last few years, we’ve done dutch Wonderland with my family. It’s nice since my DS is an Only child so he has people to play with.
ETA: I just realized that they never take their DC. That is weird.

I agree.. I can’t imagine leaving my kids that often.. or complaining that the child is clingy when you return after a week.. I’ll refrain from my true opinion of their parenting and just say it’s certainly not my style.

I have issues with their parenting as well but there is nothing we can do about it.

LOL! That was actually what I was thinking too!
This many vacations with different couples or people, yeah I think they are swingers. I find it sad they leave their child so often.

These were my thoughts....is that bad? Imagine a quarterly trip childfree?!?!?!? I feel like that is healthy for everyone hahaha. If the child is being well taken care then yes, have to agree that this sounds ahhhmazzing.

I have to agree. I'm jealous. The only alone time I get is my commute!
I do think always being with another couple is a bit odd.

We vacation with friends a lot. We have a great time with friends. Do we share a room with the friends? NO! We go on family vacations together and our kids are close in age so cute they all get along while the grownups can talk and enjoy too.
We also went on a grown up trip recently with them. So much fun! We hang in groups and DH and I get along time too. DH and I enjoy each other, but we are big with entertaining and seeing friends and family a lot too.
I don't leave my kids often. Actually we had our first trip away from them recently and my boys are 8 and 6. I have gone away, but they were with DH. To each their own, I know people who go away without kids too.
There are worse things going on.

Honestly to each their own.
Some people have open marriages, some people swing, some people never take a crap without their kids in the room, some people leave their kids and go out drinking every weekend....

I know a couple who barely go away together, I think that's stranger. LOL. She goes away sometimes with or without the kids and then he goes away with or without the kids. Weird IMO.
