Do you have a strange phobia- One that you know is silly but it's just you?
Two posts on the board today have made me think about my strange phobia of ceiling fans. I cannot sleep under them. I am always afraid they will disconnect come down and chop us in half as we sleep. 
Absolutley irrational I know! I have one left in the my office and my kitchen. The office one is the next to go but I think I can leave the kitchen on alone.
Anyone else have one?

I am so with you on that. When I was a teenager, my dad and I went on vacation and I couldn't sleep in the bed that had a fan above it. We needed to switch rooms!
I also have clown phobias, things in mass numbers, like 1000's of ants. An ant is fine, but when there are hundreds of them, I have issues.
I have weird food rules, too. I have to wash my hands after everything.

I shared this phobia (well maybe not a phobia, more like an OCD thing) with a co-worker the other day and she looked at me like I was on crack.. 
When paying bills, mainly credit card bills, I will never pay $100 or $200 towards the balance. I always pay the amount that will make the balance an even number. For instance, if my balance is $1,360.56, I will pay $360.56. Yes, I know, I have issues

Elevators. For years, I could not take one at all. Now, if I absolutely have to, I can but the whole time I am in one, I am nervous as heck.

OMG, I cannot believe I found someone that feels the same way as me. In addition to my wrists, it's also my neck. I know for me it started when I was about 13 after watching Dirty Dancing , don't ask. There was a scene where I thought Penny got her neck slit open. I was young and didn't understand what she was actually doing. All I know is I saometimes even have problems looking at the insides of my wrists, freaks me out!

ESCALATORS... I HATE them! Well, only doing down. I have such a fear that when I take that first step I will slip, fall on my a$$ and bounce the entire way down the stairs
I have to pause, hold on and turn my foot sideways.
I think I must have had a near miss when I was little but I don't remember it.

Ants, especially the carpenter ones. I panic when I see them. It's called myrmecophobia. Naturally we had an ant problem when we first moved here too. I could hardly sleep at night.

Whales.
I can't even look at pictures of whales. I have to avoid the whole sea life room at the Natural History Museum because they have that giant whale hanging from the ceiling.
I also don't like it when people touch my face - even DH. I just hate it.

DH is scared of fish. I won a goldfish at a street fair a few weeks ago, not even thinking anything of it and DH FLIPPED out when he saw it. I always thought it was just bigger fish

I am the same way. I am terrified of them. My friends think I am nuts. They are usually all the way down b/4 I can get one & no one can be around me when I am trying to get on one.

OMG god I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the same issue. NO ONE can touch the inside of my wrist. I flip and I FREAK out!!! I can even take my pulse there!!!
I hope my sister, mommy2bellabean reads this because she thinks i am a freak when it comes to this!!!!!!

We should go to the mall together and just take the stairs (I always do if there is one btwn the escalators) or ride the elevators. I'll race ya'
