Do you nap when your infant naps?
My daughter is 2 weeks old today (yay) hehe....but I am starting to now nap when she naps (I am home from work until January so I can)...did many of you try to do this?

If I really got NO sleep the night before, then yes. But I found that if I napped, I often felt worse when I woke up.

When DS was a newborn I tried to b/c the lack of sleep at night had me like a zombie; although I only could if DD was napping too. If you can, do it!

Same here. I'm usually pretty cranky after a nap. Also I find that I just have so much on my "to do" list that I can't sleep because I'm thinking about it all.

I never really did but I should have. Though when they were first born my DH was home and would get up with them every morning while i slept.

Absolutely!!! Charlotte is (almost) 16m and I will still (every so often) nap when she does.

Yes. I had to. The lack of sleep was horrible. Now, at 6 weeks, I use her naptime to get things done, but if I can, I try to just lie down & close my eyes for 30 minutes in the afternoon. Those 30 minutes make a huge difference.

I did when he was a newborn, then I stopped, now at almost 8 months I'm starting again. He's all over the place now and it wears me out keeping up with him.

No, never. I was never a napper though. Plus, i'm always trying to get something done around the house when she's sleeping during the day. And she's a great sleeper at night (always has been from day 1) so I get plenty of sleep.

no bc DS was colicky nad never slept for more than 20 minutes. now he is a year old and takes 2 long naps, I take one nap every day love it! if your newborn naps well, take advantage of it!

i didn't at first and then the sleep deprivation hit me badly....so i started and life got MUCH better!
after watching emma on his own TWICE - dave learned this lesson and now naps with her during the day!

The first few weeks I didn't. There was always stuff to do around the house. But by the time he was a month old I learned to nap when he napped. I was BF so I was awake a lot at night and every bit of sleep really helped me.

I tried, but I very rarely slept when she did. Now that she is 18 months and takes one 3-hour nap a day, I try to nap a little then!

I tried, but it was hard. Too many pple visiting and I wanted to get stuff done around the house. Next time I don't care... I'm napping!
Although I'm not much of a napper. DH will sometimes help out and take him early in the morning so I can sleep in a bit.

I always tried to but sometimes I had to pump, eat, shower. And sometimes straighten up bc I can't relax unless things are in order! But there were days when I was bone tired and yes I napped when he did. The worst was that as soon as I felt relaxed and off in dreamland, he would wake up! Lol
