how long does your newborn/infant nap for?

Kailey is 2.5 months old and naps about 3-4 times a day for 30min -1 hour long.

Is that normal?

Sounds normal to me. Ryan (who is almost not a newborn Chat Icon ) usually has a long nap in the morning (1.5-2hrs around 8:30/9AM which is probably b/c he doesn't sleep a lot at night) then a couple other 45-minute to 1-hr naps (early afternoon/early evening). I try to push for nap around 5:30 b/c I don't put him to bed until 9.

I know, I can't beleive Kailey will be an infant in a few more weeksChat Icon

She used to sleep longer during her 1st morning nap. now they have all gotten shorter. But she still sleeps about 8-9 hours at night.

Well that's probably the difference. Now that we started putting him in the crib, we range from 2-5 hr stretches tops (well, last night was the first almost 5 hr stretch). Then he is up every 2 hrs after the first stretch Chat Icon

She has alway slept in her crib. Some naps she's in her swing or bouncer, only if she does not stay in her crib.

Dylan was doing that up until 10 weeks or so. Now we're doing 3-4 shorter naps each day. I miss the two hour naps.

OMG who are you people?!
Max doesn't nap. Probably because time stops when Max Power sleeps.

MAYBE he'll fall asleep in my arms and I will put him down for 20 minutes. MAYBE.
But he does sleep from 8:30 PM to 5:30 AM, then after eating, back to sleep until 8:30.

His non napping makes it very difficult to clean my house.

At 2.5 months Chris took 2 naps a day, AM nap was about 1 hour, PM nap was 2-3 hours. Now at 6 months he takes 2-3 naps rarely are they more that 1 hour each

I know my cleaning stinks too!

this morning I was vacuuming at 7am, while she played in her gym. My Dh was like, you are doing that know (we live in an apartment building). i was like, "Yeah! If that A$$ hole upstairs can bang every morning at 8am and night, paybacks are a B!TCH!"Chat Icon

DS went through this phase around 1.5-2 months. Life was rough! But he worked it out and started taking really good naps - until I went back to work! and hte house cleaning thing, that is your DHs problem. You job is to take care of the baby and yourself at this point. Nothing else matters. 6 months later I still have a hard time finding hte time to clean my house! But its not a priority anymore!

UGH! I wish. But when he's not working, he's studying for the engineer program for the LIRR- that's his second job.
But if I continue to work, then I am getting a housekeeper, becaus ethen the playing field is even.

Kristina wakes around 7 eats, and then is back to sleep around 8 or 830. She is down for a 3 hour nap then, wakes and eats around 12. Down for nap #2 which is usually about an hour long, wakes and eats at 3 is down for nap #3 by 4-5, and then wakes up about another hour to two later, has dinner around 7 and then is asleep for the night between 8 and 9, and is out for the count! Agreed!! I don't lift a finger anymore. DS does not nap at all either. And when he's awake, lucky for me, he's a complete fusspotChat Icon , so DH knows better than to ask me to clean.
