This news is like a punch in the gut for me.
My friend at work knew something was up and she came into the bathroom to check on me...I was sobbing in there.
I followed her story and drew strength and inspiration from her while I was going through chemo. She was, essentially, a "cancer hero" of mine. I have a few of them, but she was the one closest in age to me.
We're only a year apart. I related a LOT to her story. Different cancers, but both of us young. Both of us adventurous. Both of us giving it all to live.
This disease is so fcking scary. And cruel. And tragic, and rude, and invasive, and horrible, and traumatic, and disgusting, and wicked and...pretty much everything bad in the world that you can think of, that's cancer.
I hate cancer. With every fiber of my being, to the moon and back, I hate this fcking disease that takes people far too soon and in such a horrible way.

I am in shock. This is so awful. She was so full of life, and she really, really fought hard to beat her cancer.....three freaking times. It is not fair.

Ugh. Why does this happen? This is awful news and very upsetting. She was the epitomy of class and strength. May she rest in peace.

My stomach turns as I read the title of this post. She fought so hard and it's just not fair. She beat this disease over and over and it still wasn't enough. May she finally be able to RIP and prayer for her family.

What a beautiful, strong woman. Inside and out. Her spirit was amazing and I hope she gave strength to others. May she RIP.

I wonder if there will ever e a cure for cancer.
Like 100 years from now will there be a cure?
With all the medical breakthoughs and technology we have today, we still can't find a cure.
This poor girl went through so much in her short life. Hope she is finally resting in peace.

I don't really know who she is except from seeing a thread with her name pop up on this board every now and then, never saw the show, but this is so sad Such a beautiful girl! To have beat it several times before and finally succumb to it and at such a young age... ugh how awful! May she RIP

This just breaks my heart. I am so, so sad. She wanted to beat this again so badly. So damn unfair it makes me angry. What an amazing fighter this poor girl was. May she RIP.

I think we will only see it if the cure makes more money than the treatment, but I hope I am wrong. We've made so little progress against many types of cancer in the last 60 years. The death rate for cancers like lung and pancreatic are virtually identical to what they were 40,50 or 60 years ago. Very depressing.

My DD was born with cancer. She was diagnosed when she was only a few months old. I too took this news very hard. I can't help but picture my daughter having a life long struggle only having it to end short and she not being able to achieve all she has the potential to achieve.
Cancer sucks. And there are so few improvements that have been made to the treatments, and half the treatments cause new cancers, or organ failures etc. When everyone was screaming about Ebola, I shook my head and thought, the real danger is the fact that 564,800 people die of cancer a year. And we aren't screaming in the streets trying to find away to stop this. It is an epidemic.
