The job is for an electrician at a major newspaper in Deeerfield Beach in Broward County (near Boca Raton). Salary is about the same he makes here.
The plus:
I could prob get a job
No more winters
We could afford a good life
The minus (and a huge one):
Missing friends and family
and people say you can't make as much in other parts of the country!

Thanks for all the support and feedback. I signed up for 2 teaching fairs down there so I can see if there really is a need. We have a few weeks to make a decision so loooots of thinking and plotting over the next few weeks.

I hear you. I am scared of the "redneck" type population. My cousin came back from North Carolina precisely because of that. Definitely a factor in our decision!

Ohhh I loved FL living. I did it for 8 years. And I went to a redneck high school we all had jeeps and went mudding and had keg parties/bonfires. It was such a great place to live.
