The job is for an electrician at a major newspaper in Deeerfield Beach in Broward County (near Boca Raton). Salary is about the same he makes here.
The plus:
I could prob get a job
No more winters
We could afford a good life

it's really nice there- my brother and Grandma live around there
my brother has a brand new 2 bedroom apartment- 2 full baths, huge kitchen
garage, driveway
pool
for $1300 a month
the only thing they hate is huricane season
flordia is a short plane ride to NY- and you can get tickets for less then $200 if you plan right
everyone will want to come visit you!

Deerfield Beach, aka, my second home! Its absolutley gorgeous there. Weather is usually gorgeous! My parents home is in a "senior" complex and its beautiful..all the homes down there are nice.
Congrats to your dh!

Your salary as a teacher would be a fraction of what teachers make here. I heard last year that TOP PAY for a FL teacher (years, credits, etc) is the same or less than starting salary in many LI districts.
In many other states, teachers must work a second job, for years, just to make ends meet.
In order to make the same salary as here you would have to leave teaching.
Just another possible minus to consider

My SIL works in the schools there. She lives in Boynton Beach about 15 minutes from Deerfield. She moved from Bayside and she moved down there making MORE in florida. Not that much but still More
