Can't sleep. Having major anxiety.
Ugg. I was doing really well handling JT's layoff. He went for a job interview last week with his company and they were really psyched that he was going for the job. They told him that they couldn't ask for a better person to fill the position and to go home, enjoy the holidays and they'd be seeing him after Christmas. That seemed to us like it was good news, but he hasn't heard from anyone since then, and now I'm freaking out. We lose our health insurance on January 17 and we cannot afford Cobra through his job and my job would cost almost as much as my mortgage to get health insurance. I'm just praying and praying and praying that he gets this job and then we don't even have to worry because the money is more and the health insurance will just be the same with no interruption. I've been trying to stay positive for him and for my sanity, but I just needed to vent my fears somewhere.  Thanks for listening. I just needed to take that weight off my shoulders and put it out there.

i am so sorry you guys are going through this. it is though only 2 days after Christmas and when they said after the holidays maybe they meant also after New years. I can not say i know what you are feeling but from that comment i would try to relax and see what happens after New Years

Hang in there! I am sure the day after xmas was a very light working day. I am sure a lot of people were off and you will hear something next week.

I hope you hear from them soon - I would think the holidays would include new year's day too...so if you think that way, it might be less stressful.

I know it's tough, I've been there. I know it's easier said than done to not worry. But try to have a little faith that things will work out.
I'm sure things slowed down before the Holidays and they will reach out to him next week.

I know how hard it is to relax (we're in a similar position right now with DH interviewing), but try for a few more days. I bet there weren't a lot of people working on Friday. I would try not to panic until at least after New Years. I'll be praying that he gets a call this coming week!

Don't panic. Things have a way of working out. Create a back up plan JUST IN CASE. Healthy Family Plus is a REALLY good and VERY affordable health plan if the need arises.
Rob has been out of work since June.. I did a lot of stressing before I just let it go and realized it was going to be fine... and I have managed to find all manner of blessings hidden since then.
It's scary.. but you will be okay.

The day after Christmas was not a real work day. It was a skeleton staff in most companies unless it's retail. Give it a little more time, but vent as much as you want... it's only normal!!!

Rach,
"The Holidays" can mean AFTER January 2nd. Most HR peeps may have taken the last 2 weeks of the year off. Please, keep that in mind. I know it is difficult, but look at it logically not emotionally. I know with my anxiety if I look at things logically it helps me a lot. Look at this is a way to overcome your anxiety and put your faith into action. You can overcome it. You can.
Breathe, pray and have faith that it WILL work out. You guys are in my prayers and I KNOW JT will get the right job for him and your family.  Hang in there.
