Can you ride a bicycle?
Just a random poll....
I've been riding since about 3rd grade. I almost never walked anywhere during college. I rode my bike all of the time.
Now, I still like riding, but it's much harder to find time and energy, especially since DC and DW don't ride.

Can you ride a bicycle?
Yes, I have a road bike. I ride outside when the weather is nice and I have a bike trainer for when it's cold outside.
ETA: my DH also has a road bike. We're getting my DS a bike for his birthday, but he's too little to go on a real bike ride (3).

Re: Can you ride a bicycle?
I learned when I was a kid, but haven't done it for years. DH and DS like to go for bike rides, and I'd like to join, but I need to get a bike that has small wheels, because I learned in a way I was able to put both my feet on the ground. I feel more secure that way. Once I rode DS old bike, and it was good in size, but very heavy.

Re: Can you ride a bicycle?
Not well. I learned on my cousin's bike when I was a kid but never really had my own and never mastered it. I need to learn before DD is old enough.

Re: Can you ride a bicycle?
Yes, and I ride on occasion. We often rent bikes (or stay in hotels with bikes for the guests) when we go away.
I don't own a bike...I just don't trust riding in the streets, people are so distracted while driving and I fear getting creamed by a car or truck.

Can you ride a bicycle?
Yes but very occasionally because honestly, I'm afraid to ride around where I live. It's very congested and with the way people drive, I just feel it's dangerous- especially with all the people texting and driving. Sometimes we will load up the bikes and take them to the park and ride them, but it's annoying to do that.

I only ride off-road because of that. I figure if I'm on a trail, the worst thing that can happen is running into a tree at 20 mph. On the road, I can get hit by a 3 ton hunk of metal at 60 mph.

Re: Can you ride a bicycle?
I can, haven't ridden one in years. I keep toying with the idea of getting a new one to ride. It's a good exercise to keep my new knees flexible.

Exactly - and I would do the same if I was motivated enough to put a bike rack on the car. I know that we'd get the bikes and equipment and never bother with it.
We're in Queens and the two roads we would take to any of the bike paths are too busy for me...palms are sweaty just thinking about riding a bike on Woodhaven or Cross Bay Boulevards!

Can you ride a bicycle?
Yes. A few years ago I got a new bike and used it a lot over the first couple of years that I had it, but haven't really used it much in the last year or two. I'd like to get back into riding it more often

Can you ride a bicycle?
I rode a lot when I was a kid, but actually "forgot" how to ride as an adult. I tried riding again in my 20s and almost immediately wiped out and never went back. DH got me a cute 3 wheeled bike last Xmas but it's in storage b/c we had to move into a small apt temporarily.

Can you ride a bicycle?
I ride but not as much in the last few years. I am thinking about upping my training from just running to tris once I get all healed so I'll have to buy a road bike. Right now I just have a hybrid.

We have bike trails by me. If I bike a few miles away from my house, it gets rural pretty quickly. I tend to avoid major roads at all costs. I also do a lot of biking early in the morning in the spring/summer before other people are on the roads. Cars scare me too!

Can you ride a bicycle?
I learned as a kid, but even then I was nervous about crashing into something. I haven't ridden in about 40 years!

Can you ride a bicycle?
I chose occasionally but really I have rarely ridden since having kids. Dh is an avid mountain biker and rides as often as he can. We used to ride to parks nearby sometimes before having kids. I tried mountain biking with him a few times but I'm a scarey cat. I even tried downhill mountain biking on a ski trail in Colorado with him which was a huge mistake lol. The bike weighed more than me and dragged me down the mountain on my face more than once!

I can ride a bike. I have not ridden in a few years since bike is in storage and needs to be fixed. Debating on fixing or getting a new bike.

Is there a reason you never taught your kids? Were they just not interested? I thought as a kid, everyone rode bikes but I know at least one of my neighbor's kids don't ride & the oldest is 13. She says it is because we don't live in a bike riding neighborhood ( which is true.) You have to go on a trail, which is close, but kind of a pain to to take your bike there.

I know how to but any physical activity is something I avoid so my bike rots in the garage.
