Can you recommend your pediatrician in the Merrick/Bellmore/Wantagh area?
We need to find a new pediatrician and I'd like to start with recommendations from the mommies here.
Long story and definitely not looking to say anything bad about our current pediatrician but we really need to find a new doctor.

Ang my ped is in East Meadow and we LOVE LOVE LOVE him....he's on East Meadow Ave near Saf-T-Swim.

Mine is about 15 mins away (right by Roosevelt Field) - but my entire family swears by him. Let me know if you want his #.

Kara - I would LOVE to use your doctor but last I heard he didn't accept United Healthcare...do you know if that's true? I'll call on Monday to find out...I have heard great things.

OMG...OMG....REALLY?!!  I am calling first thing on Monday. Maybe it's that he doesn't have rights at LIJ...but I could care less at this point...that's nothing compared to the level of care I heard about.
My neice has problems with fainting...I think sugar related and she fainted in his office. Once she was okay he brought her out to my SIL's car.

We go to Oppenheimer, Marchitelli... in Bellmore on Newbridge Road. I really like them.

No, he isn't associated with LIJ - he's with NCMC and Winthrop - not sure about Southside...
We love him. AND he's a Chaminade boy - graduated 1 year before I did from SHA and we know (knew) a lot of the same people.
He's also on the EMS team for Wantagh/L-town.

We use Dr. Zaso also. I love him and his office staff. We have United Healthcare and never had any problems. We've been using him for 2 years. On my insurance website he is listed as being affiliated with LIJ, Mercy, New Island and Winthrop. I know when we started using him we were told he wasn't going to be affiliated with Mercy anymore since they were getting rid of their peds department. Not sure if anything else has changed but I HTH.

We use Dr Silverstein on merrick ave in merrick. He is a solo practicioner, they have a wonderful staff,answer concerns over the phone and are easy to get into when I need to get my dd seen. I would definitely recomend this office

We use Dr. Lisa Forgione is Rockville Centre and HIGHLY recommend her. She is in practice with two other women doctors who are also great. Dr. Forgione is the cousin of one of DH's best childhood friends. They have evening hours and Saturday hours for sick visits. I know you didn't ask for Rockville Centre, but if you want more info. FM me. The practice is wonderful.
They have rights at LIJ and I'm not sure where else.

I left Oppenheimer too. I love my new pediatrician. He has really come through for us several times when my son was very sick and my daughter was in the hospital. He saved a friends child's life so they still go to him even now that they moved to the North shore.
Dr Silverstein is on Merrick Ave. I love his office, it is not a factory. The wait times are small compared to Oppenheimer but so is his office.
HE is a solo practioner, but he is opened on Sunday and has a covering doc on Saturday so it is 7 day a week service
