I do feel for the mother as I have a special needs child myself but venting is one thing and then taking it to the point of going to the news was another. She also posted all over the Mall's facebook page. She, whether or not it was her idea or her group facebook's page idea, ended up trying to villianize that poor Santa who was just doing his job and has always been more than patient and kind to my child and all my friends special needs children as well.
agree with this. It may not have been her idea to do so...but she went along with it and escalated it to the point it is right now. Those workers were doing their job and from my understanding Santa really has nothing to do with it but he was made out to be a uncaring monster or "scrooge" as they are calling him in the stories, because of this story.

I cannot open this link. But from what I have read both wheelchairs could not fit into the photo and the children could not life their heads to be in the photo the way the camera is angled.
I mean this mother has a heavy burden in life to carry that many could not grasp. Not looking for a freebie but really for the sake of human compassion what is the major issue if she just took a quick photo and was able to get some joy with her children?! She did try the regular way and that was not working. And no, not everyone should be entitled but how often do you see a mother in her situation with two children who cannot life their heads at the smithhaven Mall?! please leave this poor lady alone on this

I don't think anyone is necessarily giving her a hard time.
I also say this as a parent of a little boy with some issues and I have also been a social worker for people with disabilities for many years.
I do think she used poor judgment in going to the media in this situation however.
I know I am not in her shoes, but from what I have read so far, it does not sound like the type of situation that she or her children were discriminated against, or honestly, that could not be worked out.
I feel bad because I am sure this has only added more burden into her life and again just speaking for myself, I would be mortified and I know my family would too if I ever did something like this because of social media.
I think if anything it should be a lesson for parents in general of what not to do to draw attention to a situation.

i agree. But I also wonder if what is presented to us is the media x1000. They need a story. A good one. And they found it. I see all angles to this story. It's a shame it has gone so far. In the end, she still lives her life with two very disabled children. Not sure if the sense of "entitlement" that everyone speaks of really matters. Looking at the pics of the children, looks like a struggle to load out of the car, but she does it. Kudos to her for for being a great mom in general. Even if the story itself just sux.
