Hmmm... a lot of the unstained ones look nice, too!

Decisions, decisions!!

My brother just finished his oak floors, no stain. I have to say it looked very similar to my stained floors...

I think I love all your floors!

Maybe this is just a sign that I'll love it no matter the finish! Chat Icon

Ok I agree with this. BUT....you may NOT like them if you go too dark.

I saw on a home decorating show where they stained the floors really dark. It made the room too dark IMO, so I would wary of going too dark. Too light, ok, too dark, could make things very dreary feeling.

Not sure how well you can see them in this pic but here's a pic from Thanksgiving-time last year. We got the floors (oak) stained a java color - we LOVE it. It really warms up the rooms and also sets us apart from the other co-ops in the development (important to us for selling purposes later).

ETA: some of these pics might give you a better look (these are VERY old Chat Icon)

We did Mahogany stain. Love the look but it shows alot of dog hair and dust. I'm constantly going over it with a microfiber mop. I have the stain through my house in the livingroom & diningroom.

Thanks!

After seeing all these pictures, I'm actually leaning toward a light stain or not staining them at all. I was worried about how it would look with our furniture, but I love the contrast and think it will brighten up the rooms a bit.

Ours were sanded and stained a cherrywood color. We have pine floors in our home (I have no idea why..) and the wood took the stain differently...some boards are different colors...but it looks great!

We just did ours, Oak w/ Gunstock stain. Its awesome. So happy we went with a stain.

Have to get you pics.

We left the floors the way they were when we moved in. But we used Gunstock stain for our doors and trim. I love it!
