I plan to bring my son to Diggerland for his 10th birthday. I had bought season passes on Black Friday 2019 for the 2020 season but obviously we never used them.

We're going to Camelbak. We're staying overnight, but we're doing the indoor waterpark. It could easily be a day trip too.

Thanks everyone! American Dream is in the lead right now with my kids. Just hoping it’s not too much for a day. We are trying not to stay over. Will update.

Be aware if you go to American Dream. Weekends are busier than weekdays. Also Sundays, the stores are closed and only the amusments are open.
Great place. The waterpark is awesome too

Thank you! Do you think it's too much to do the amusement park and water park in the same day?

You really wouldn't have time to do both. The waterpark hours are like 11 to 7 or 12 to 7. The amusement park hours are like 11 to 8. Unless you plan on leaving the waterpark early, but the price you pay, you are better off staying the entire time it's open.

We are going in a couple of weeks for my daughter's bday. We are staying over. Hotels are less than $100 in the area. We might do the amusement park the night we stay over along with some shopping for her bday, then the following day we are waking up and going to the waterpark. Then we will drive home after it closes.

Yes! This sounds like a perfect plan. Could I ask where you are staying? Trying to find something, clean but close and not too expensive. Thank you!

Hilton Meadowlands is the closest. Also, try to make your trip on a weekday to avoid crowds.

The Courtyard is where we are staying. It was like $200 for two rooms, total. Tons of clean and nice hotels in the area

I thought tickets were in time slots and you don’t get to stay the whole day? Or do you buy for both time slots. When I looks I had to choose which time block I wanted tickets for.

On Saturdays there are 2 - 5 hour time slots but on Sundays and during the week there is just one time slot.

Oh I'm not sure, we are going on a Friday. I definitely wouldn't pay $89 for a short time slot on a Saturday or Sunday if that's how it works. I paid $89 for the entire day on a Friday.

So I checked again some days it’s the whole day and others it’s tome slots which is hey I originally looked I thought it was crazy prices were high and you didn’t even get the whole day. Looks like the water park has more full days but like the Nickelodeon park is mostly time slots!

If they are limiting you to a time slot, they should reduce the price. It's not fair that you have to pay the same price as someone who gets to spend the whole day.
That makes no sense.
So basically they are making double on those days.

Yeah that's why we plan to do the Nick park the night before the waterpark...maybe. The price went up since last time I looked though. It also went up for the waterpark for the day I bought tickets for.

The prices definitely fluctuate I remember checking around New Years cause that’s when it was my daughters birthday and it was going to cost us $400 for not even a whole day!!

Yeah its expensive. It was almost $400 for 4 of us for the waterpark. But, it's part of her bday present!

Birthday day trip for kids

I just wanted to update this to add that I would never go there on a weekend or school holiday. We went yesterday and we got in the line at 10am, park opened at 12. We were first, but it's okay because the girls ran around the mall a little bit, and I wanted to be first to get seats to avoid having to purchase a cabana. We had a good 2 hours where it was pretty empty. Rode a ton. As the day went on, it was INSANE. It was a sold out day with one 12-7pm session and their capacity is 25%. I would hate to see 100% capacity. Stark difference between when we went pre pandemic and yesterday. Luckily we had seats on the second level not near people. We did have fun, but it was a ton of people. Many who couldn't follow the social distancing rules.

The locker room area for families was a complete and total zoo at closing. Fortunately I had my son with special needs change in the family restroom inside the park, and the girls just used the regular women's locker room which was empty. Avoid the family locker room if you can! Overall we had a great time, but I was surprised by the amount of people.

Also, on Thursday the mall was PACKED out with thousands upon thousands of large groups that were NOT wearing masks or had them on their chins. It wasn't like this Friday in the actual mall, I'm guessing because it was a Friday and they had religious obligations. We have seen this many other times while at the mall skiing, and no one enforces the mask rules in the store lines or walking around, so if you are weary of that, be warned!
