And second her dad called police friend at 545pm and they have video of her alive then jogging. The dad had a bad feeling before she was killed. That effing breaks my heart! And this is why I am a paranoid person who obsessively locks my doors and sleeps w a mini bat next to my bed, extra key fob w the panic button too.
This is just weird. He calls the police because "he has a bad feeling" but she was still alive...almost like he knew something was going to happen.
This whole think just doesn't sit right.
Really?? I was not aware of that detail. That's weird.

My heart goes out to all those close to this girl and I hope they have the right person and that justice is done. I haven't been following much of the story so No comment one way or another. I just have one question - I saw they found DNA under her nails, phone and back but does anyone know if any was found in her?

Everything I've read says that her father asked her not to run without him that day. He got nervous when he called her several times, but she didn't answer. That's when he called an NYPD neighbor who, in turn, called 911.

Daily mail U.K. Which I find is way more detailed (plus pictures) than US news. And I don't mean this story specifically, but seriously Long Island news will be reported there with way more detail than here.
Also side note I was watching live on the computer after the FL Airport shooting and they're saying we aren't releasing the name at this time, and hen I look on daily mail U.K. And they've released his age, name and a picture!

I really can't see how anyone can defend this monster or suggest he didn't do it. His DNA was found all over her body, he admitted it & gave details about exactly how/why he did it, he was in the location at the time of the crime, etc. He frequently passed through that park to go from Brooklyn to Howard Beach. He seems "off" mentally which you'd have to be to commit a crime like that. He doesn't look particularly strong BUT if he was an enraged as he claims he was, and even though she was fit, I could definitely see her not being able to fight him off or get away. Nothing I've heard, read, or seen about this suggests a framing to me or that they have the wrong person at all.

I do not think this man appears to be capable of premeditating a murder. I know DNA doesn't lie and I'm not saying he didn't do the dirty work, but someone else was behind this. No question in my mind.

people with cognitive problems or mental disorders can turn on a dime. Just because he looks meek and bewildered doesn't mean he couldn't snap. I have worked with people like this, you must always have your guard up and keep a distance because they can grab you in a split second and suddenly have "superhuman" strength out of nowhere. I've had patients attack me and other staff for no reason. don't always assume there's a reason for things. bad things happen to good people. it f sucks and my heart continues to break for Karina's family.
i hope they throw Chanel under the jail.

I just read they are gonna try to throw out the DNA sample because everyone is saying he looks mentally challenged so when he agreed to the sample he didn't really understand what he was doing

However, a police source tells NY1 he has a prior history of harassing women, and says he was hospitalized following an incident at his high school where he cursed, threatened to kill women and threatened to bring a knife to school.

I teach at an alternative HS. He does look like a simple, meek and deer-in-the-headlights kind of guy. And no matter what anyone looks like, you never know what they could possibly do.
I think that everyone's preconceived notions of what a killer would look like have just made something with this case seem "off".

I read that he didn't confess to raping her. Which I found odd since he confessed the everyrhing else and allowed a DNA sample. Weird.

The reason this case has been 'off' from the start was the father...his actions, timing and statements. Every picture of the victim that was released is a 'sexy' type picture. The mother has barely spoken out. Also the amount of media attention this case has gotten goes far above and beyond the norm indicating connections somewhere.
Now we have a special needs person who was interrogated without legal representation or guardians present who confessed and gave over a DNA sample. Then they have him do the perp walk for the media and he seems clueless. Also he has not been charged with sexual assault, does that mean there was someone else? Does the DNA not match everything? This is really a hell of a first crime for someone to commit.
In the end I hope they have the right person, but something just seems 'off'

Interesting that he is clearly mentally impaired but thought to put on a condom. It does make me wonder if he is easily impressionable enough for him to have carried this out for someone else. I do think he did kill her but also think there is more to this.

Yes I was wondering this too.
And if you go to the trouble of using a condom in a sexual assault it is obviously to avoid leaving evidence- yet to discard it right near the body kind of defeats the purpose.
Just thinking out loud....who knows what happened. I guess we'll hear more in the coming days, weeks, etc

They had the Central Park 5 Dna on the victim then? I mean when they got arrested
