Anyone use Plainedge School District?
Just wondering what your thoughts are on it..thinking about moving to Massapequa...and not sure we should just limit ourselves to massapequa school disctrict.
Also, does anyone know what other towns use Plainedge school disctrict?
Any info would be appreciated...TIA!

we moved to North Massapequa last July - Plainedge SD. Our son is only just almost 2 so no real information on the system as a BTDT but it is a solid SD, smaller (which is good in my opinion but I went to Seaford, another small SD) with great emphasis on education and atheletics. I have heard that other extra ciricular activities have suffered some with budget issues but this is the case everywhere.
Bottom line, great SD, great community. We LOVE it!

When we were looking at houses Plainedge was definitely on our list of districts that were good (in our opinion) unfortunately all the houses available were higher then we could afford.
I know that parts of North Massapequa go there, as well as parts of Bethpage.

I live in N. Massapequa and my DD will be attending Plainedge- East Plain next yr.
Not because I live there and I grew up in Bethpage but I hear good things about the SD.
Between academics and their sports.
- The towns are bethpage, N. Massapequa and a portion of Massapequa.

i live there now and actually attended school there from 1st grade. i loved it.
we recently got custody of DH's boys and just put them in there, 1st and 3rd grade. they both love it there. all the classrooms in their elementary have smart boards.
1st grade class is about 17 kids, the 3rd grade class is 23 kids i think
parts of north mass, bethpage and sometimes seaford are in the district.

We looked there, the taxes were very high. Check the graduation/ college attendance rates. I liked the district because it was small, but ultimately chose another district

I graduated from Plainedge High School. The district encompasses N. Massapequa, Seaford, and Bethpage addresses. (mostly). I graduated in 1993 and it was always a very good district when I was there. It was on the smaller side which was nice because everyone knew everyone. I graduated with 235 kids. My friend is a teacher there (also an alumni) and says it is still a good district. I also have several friends whose children are in the district and they have been very happy so far. Many of them are also PHS graduates as well.

Sorry to crash...
My boss has her kids in the elementary school and loves it. She moved to her neighborhood b/c she wanted her kids in Plainedge.
I have a lot of friends who are Plainedge grads and 1 of them is actually a teacher in the HS!
