Re: Anyone lock in oil prices this week?

Perillo quoted $2.99 with a service agreement of $134 for two years.

I think I may wait a week or two to see if prices level off.

$2.59 agallon Slomins

1 year lock

for those with Slomins security systems

5 cents off a gallon if you auto-pay

I think the service contract, cleaning, etc. was another $99.

We took it because it was about the same price that C.O.D is right now.

I'm not sure if it's for those who are established security customers only or if it includes new ones as well.

You can call and ask... 516-932-7000.

We went with Romanelli and Sons for $2.89. I met with Slomins and they were cheaper, but what I liked about Romanelli was they lock you in for 6-months, so we renew in the summer when prices are the lowest Chat Icon

You also get $200 worth of free oil coupons so at the end of the day, it's cheaper then Slomins.

Heat Usa

I saw the link on my husband's union website. I'm sure it's available to the teamsters too.

Re: Anyone lock in oil prices this week?

I have a very old heating system that works very well, and it is not in our budget to put a new one in until next year. So, I am kind of stuck with petro because they are the only company that will work on this heating system.

that being said, I just locked in with them for 3.29 as a ceiling price, because mine goes from Nov 1 to Nov 1 and didnt want to pay higher in spring and summer, but I did get them to extend my service contract instead of also ending on nov 1, they extended it for free until june 30th.

Wow. It goes up fast. I locked in last week with Petro and got a ceiling of $3.09 with a $110 service contract.

Re: Anyone lock in oil prices this week?

I actually decided not to lock in a rate this year and it has been the best thing that I have done so far. I got a contract with Dunrite oil it is a small company out of bethpage. He does not charge for a service contract so I saved over $150 with that and he charges you market rate on the oil. The first 3 delivers were over .30 cents a gallon cheaper than what I was going to lock in with Petro for. And I got a delivery today for 2.89 a gallon. So since Feb I figured I saved close to $400 by not locking in.

FYI: Oil reached a historic high of $91. a barrel in the last 24 hours. That's at least $10. higher a barrel than it was this time last year AND the temps have barely dipped recently, at least not enough to consider it winter.

It's a gamble but most economic analysts point to very high home heating oil prices this winter.

Yes, I heard that also. I'm actually relieved we locked in this year instead of doing COD. This would've caused me stress! Also, the prices of COD were only pennies less than the lockin prices being offered. I figured it was worth it for my sanity. Chat Icon

Re: Anyone lock in oil prices this week?

We have General Benit. This is my second year with them, and for the winter they are not locking people in, but they are offering a $2.79 cap. I just got my oil delivery this week and since oil is high now, my price was $2.79 a gallon. If it was lower than $2.79 a gallon then it will be what ever price it is at. If the price of oil is over $2.79 a gallon then the most it can be is $2.79 a gallon. Also with General, if you pay within 10 days they take .3 cents off a gallon. It doesnt amount to much though.
