lol!!! we took ds out when he was 4 days old to target- no one came in contact with him and it was a much needed outing! go for it!
ETA: we took ds out from the very begining never got sick. a week after he started daycare at 13 weeks he got sick

I would.
We took DD out early and I kept the hood up on her carseat and didn't take her out. No one ever bothered us.

I wouldn't. In my opinion, its not worth it. It's cold out and flu season. I had cabin fever but I waited to take my DS out. He just started going to stores and he's almost 4 months. Better safe than sorry is how I feel about it. 9 days old is way too young, why would you want to risk it?
ITA!! I waited about 6 weeks

I just started taking DD out to places at 6 weeks...and it still makes me nervous! The first 5 weeks i only took her to my mom's and the pediatrician. I am normally not a worry wart and I cannot believe that I actually waited this long to take her out...but my dr. said that if she developed a fever prior to 6 weeks it's automatic hospitalization and a spinal. So that kept me in the house!
I take her on walks when its over 40 degrees....hasn't happened much lately

 Did a very pretty brunette (possibly with a very chubby 1year old) ask you how old your baby is today??? My friend told me she was a BBB today and some woman had her 9 day old newborn out. She said she couldn't get over how tiny your LO was b/c her baby was born at almost 9lbs! She said she wouldnt have taken out a baby that young, but I defended you by saying she is probably going crazy in the house and why not take the baby to a BABY store??? I just think that is funny if that was you

5 days old my DS was out shopping with me right after i left his first ped appt. I asked the doctor and she said it was just fine as long as I put the visor thingy up on the infant carrier and not let anyone breathe on him

I wouldn't...DS is two months old and has only been to grandma's and the doctor. He probably won't be going out for another month. I am delaying vaccines also so that's an additional risk to cold weather and germs.

I would. My kids were preemies and were out at 10 days old. We kept their carseat covered with a blanket at the advice of our NICU Dr. Those blankets were washed before they were used again

Same here...we went to BRU when she was about a week old, and out to dinner at a restaurant when she was 3 weeks old. As other said, just keep the visor up on the infant seat and don't be afraid to tell strangers to back off. We also went to dinner at an off-time (I think it was 4:30) so the crowd wouldn't be overwhelming.

I would - it's not like you are going to have the front desk make an announcement that people can take turns holding her! Enjoy yourself - getting out will make you feel so much better!

I wouldn't. It isn't worth it for her to get a spinal tap if she catches a cold or virus.
If anything, I'd have someone watch DC and you should get a little break and go out by yourself.
