Am I crazy to want to take my 9 day old to BBB for an outing?
If I bundle her up and stay away from other people, would you do it? I have CABIN FEVER and am SO excited to take her out.

I would. My DS was born in January and I couldn't stay housebound. We're out and about early on.

I didn't take DD out until 2 weeks when I could drive after my c-section, but then we were out pretty much every day after that. I couldn't stay in the house. She was a January baby also and we just bundled up really well, I preheated the car before we went out and I covered her car seat so no one touched her. It was soooo nice to get out and walk a bit.

I wouldn't. In my opinion, its not worth it. It's cold out and flu season. I had cabin fever but I waited to take my DS out. He just started going to stores and he's almost 4 months. Better safe than sorry is how I feel about it. 9 days old is way too young, why would you want to risk it?

I would do it. I almost took DD into BRU with me at 5 days old on her way back from the ped. DH didn't want to so he stayed in the car with her while I went in but he won't be home forever and I think sometimes you do what you gotta do to stay sane. Just bundle her up well and keep her shielded from strangers.

I would go, it's not really that cold out, if you bundle her up well it's fine.
ETA: Unless someone touches her or sneezes/coughs on her she's not going to catch anything. Viruses don't just float around in the air looking for someone to attack  Can you keep the sunshade on the infant carrier up, with a blanket over it?

I took my DS out at that age just not to a public place. - we took walks outside. I don't think the cold is an issue, its the germs and just other ppl in general that I'd be a little weary about.

Agreed DS was born in December, by mid January we were at the mall. DS didnt get his first cold until he was 9 months old.
I fidn places like BBB and BRU are very NB friendly so go for it. If its too much, just turn around and go home!

Same for me and I'm not a germaphobe in the slightest. I waited till 6 weeks.

No I would not! Way too young. Sick people coughing, sneezing, it get recirculated in the store vents.
You said it was an outing. I assume others will be close by then.
I would not take the risk.

I would people were all over my house and bringing germs in with them. So I took DS out. He didn't even get sick until he was well over a year and so many months.
