Just got this alert...did he officially announce it?
I'm Pro-Vaccine and I think this is crazy. It's going to be disaster and who is even going to enforce it and why? I can't imagine how this will work

Yes, he just announced it at the press conference. People will have to show proof of being vaccinated. I assume if a business doesn’t, there will be consequences. I think I heard inspections.

McDonald’s now also requiring workers and customers to wear masks regardless of vaccine status in most areas.

This probably should've been rolled out as events were announced. I know Broadway did it but, other venues have sold tickets for events and at the time testing was allowed.

I thought it was “suggested” to businesses to have only vaccinated people inside. Not mandated.
I just read it again. It’s not mandatory. These are suggestions. If nyc employees are not vaccinated by sept 13, they will be subject to weekly testing. I think they should ALL be testing weekly bc vaccinated can get and spread it as well but what do I know

The option for weekly testing is only for NYC employees- the others he announced today- ALL Indoor dining, gym, theaters, etc- workers and customers is REQUIRED.

I know - it's horrible. I am vaccinated so I can go places but, to put these limits, when not everyone is even eligible for the vaccine makes no sense (although NOTHING that DeBlasio does makes any sense).

Yeah now places will need to hire vaccine bouncers to check for valid cards. And undoubtedly they will lose business. If someone still isnt vaccinated, I doubt they will go get a shot to go eat at Ray’s Pizza.

Exactly and ones that just can't get the vaccine.
I hope these places sue him and don't enforce it as I feel horrible for these businesses.
Everyone will be going back on unemployment.

Work it out???? Which means WHAT???? These businesses will be losing employees and be MORE short staffed.
Is there ANY common sense left in this world? It is ALL control and no one will ever have any say of what they can do with their bodies. It is disgusting and I hope people start taking a stand.

Just like they were doing when he had the NYC restaurants shut down for a ridiculous amount of time, people will just flock to LI or CT to eat.

The vaccination rate in communities of color are pretty low. Not going to look good when poc are refused entry to places. Don’t forget tourism as well, sort of a big deal in nyc. People from other places who have trips booked here and not vaccinated may cancel.
