2019 Accomplishments and Goals

Re: 2019 Accomplishments and Goals

For 2019, I want to focus on my strength training more. Yea, I would like the scale to show me a lower number and yea, I like when my jeans are getting baggy. But there is nothing I like more than lifting heavy weights and feeling like it's nothing!

When I was weight training, my body changed dramatically even though the scale hardly budged.

I also want to finish projects!!! I have so many things left half done, decisions I have to make - I need to stop dragging my feet on everything.

Re: 2019 Accomplishments and Goals

yes, for 2019 i'm concentrating on strength.

about mid december i spoke with one of the trainers at the gym and we set up a plan for me.

my first goal is to do 10 push ups on my toes... no modifications, no knees.

i already have an update:
this morning's workout included uneven push ups. i gave the trainer the stink eye. i decided to give it my all.

I DID FOUR UNEVEN PUSH UPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
two on each side. AND THEY WERE ON MY TOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I DID THAT!!!

2019 is going to rock!

Re: 2019 Accomplishments and Goals

I would like to maintain myself. I‘m happy at the weight I‘m at and I would like to start doing more working out. My work outs are usually just walking, but I‘d like to incorporate more weights.

As for my diet, hmmm. I used a lot of fast food to put on a bit of weight. It has kind of gone to my stomach. When I don‘t eat fast food, then I usually just have protein and veg. I would like to save a bit of money and have more protein and veg.

I‘m happy with my weight now. I just want to sculpt my body more, lol.

To finally put my health as a priority. I have to lose at least 20 lbs to get to a healthy weight. Planning on starting WW this weekend, in the past when I have stuck with it, it had worked for me.

I've been "dieting" and going to the gym almost everyday since the week of December 3rd. I'm down almost 20lbs! A lot of it was belly fat! I drink plain green tea every morning, and have really cut my calories I used to eat out almost daily! I haven't even seen a drive through since the week I started. I'm in the 140's now (I'm short! 5'2"), and I'm super happy, and hopefully I can keep it up!

2019 Accomplishments and Goals

My goals are to break 20 minutes in a 5K. Last year, I had the same goal, but fell short. I literally ran a 20 minute flat 5K. I am now incorporating more speed work into my weekly routine.

Additionally, I am looking to increase my strength and muscle mass. Currently, I can do 5 unassisted pull ups. I am hoping to be able to do 10 unassisted pull ups by the end of the year.

Very true! I started off with doing them assisted last year and have been working on doing them unassisted for 1-2 months.

Not gain anymore weight... seriously since having my twins it’s terrible, but, I’m more active at my job, the weight still isn’t coming off (I have hormone issues) but really trying to just be more active, which every day at work I’m getting in about 15k steps and I have been walking the stairs on my breaks, even if I don’t loose weight, it’s better to continue to be active

at the gym, this morning, i'm doing my thing. when i get to the station for shoulder presses, i picked the lightest weight in the building. this was the 5th station of the circuit and i was over myself.

the gosh darn trainer comes over to me and politely and gently takes the bar from me and has the audacity to throw my words in my face Chat Icon Chat Icon he says, "you have goals and that weight isn't going to help you reach your goals."

how dare he?!!!!! Chat Icon

so, i sheepishly picked up the heavier weight and continued to do my work. Chat Icon

Awesome! I can currently do one real one and no more (with palms facing away). With palms facing each other I can do 4-5 but idk if they really count - I feel like they’re mostly bicep instead of back.

My gym doesn’t have an assisted pull up machine - any tips for getting better at them with nothing but the pull up bars? I’ve been trying also to start at the top position and very slowly lower down- I read that this can improve back strength. I want to be able to do 10!! Or at least 5 Chat Icon

Oh I wouldn’t like that. I hate feeling like trainers are judging or critiquing me (when I’m not asking them to lol).

I want to maintain my weight loss and work out a little, just little, for my health. I know I don't love exercise, but I definitely feel better when I do it regularly.

I'd love to get an active hobby, but with two young kids, I don't really have time or money for hobbies right now, though I'm hoping when the weather gets better to do active family hobbies.

The past two mornings I set my alarm clock to get up early and workout, but the first morning I just didn't get going fast enough and this morning my youngest work up before my early alarm even went off.

let me know what you think. i've also heard of some really good chair yoga on youtube... not sure if that might be for you, but i imagine it could be good to do while little ones are napping.

Re: 2019 Accomplishments and Goals

For end of 2018 I ended up losing 15lbs. I am excited but it took me almost the whole year to stop procrastinating and get off my ass. I did accomplish my Spartan goal of 4 trifectas - which is 12 races.

This year I want to hit my 115 weight.. so that is about 20lbs. I also want to do a cleaner Spartan race, less Burpees and overcome some of the hard obstacles.Chat Icon

Plan:
-less drinking to stop drinking lol
-more working out
-less eating out & more cooking
-bye carbs and reduce sugar Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: 2019 Accomplishments and Goals

i am very happy to report that during today's class (interval-type gym class), i was able to do all the burpees... kind of.

i'm that much closer to doing a "basic burpee."

as of this morning, i did all of them as "squat thrusts." this means that i didn't do the push up at the bottom... but i did everything else without modifying. i have been the queen of modification since i joined this gym, back in october.

i get really excited every time i do something with less modification or non.

sadly, it's still slow going on my personal push up challenge... but i'm not quitting!!

I just started the SWEAT PWR program. They had a $1 promo for 12 weeks. If it goes well, I plan on buying the year.
