No I don't think I would either. Maybe a little welcoming party/lunch with some friends would be nice, but nothing centered around gifts.

I wouldn't do a shower. However, if I was invited to a little sprinkle under the guise that all babies should be celebrated I would go.

Re: 3rd baby + a shower??

No. Even a shower for a 2nd child is debatable, let alone a 3rd. The attendees will feel obligated to bring gifts if it's labeled as anything along the lines of a shower.

I think it's sweet she wants to do it, but I wouldnt call it a shower or a sprinkle. Just have a ladies tea to celebrate the upcoming arrival of your little one. If people want to bring something so be it, but it shouldnt be a shower. I see nothing wrong with 2nd or 3rd showers for the child if its a 5+ yr. difference in between.

Re: 3rd baby + a shower??

I am of the mindset that ALL babies should be celebrated so I say YES, have a shower

Not a huge one like people do for a 1st baby but something small, coffee and cake to celebrate your baby

I'd say no to a shower. But if she wants to have a small get together, that would be nice.

I agree. My mom is having one for us, but a very small one, with only about 10 people.

I also think every baby should be celebrated. A small gathering would be fine.

I agree.. but you definitely should have a new baby party welcoming your little one home Chat Icon

if your friend hosts THAT, it would be much less stressful than if you had a stream of visitors when you come home from the hospital Chat Icon and it would be a very sweet sentiment on her part

Re: 3rd baby + a shower??

its very nice of your friend to offer---but i would ask her not to, and have her save some money. you could always do a lunch or something with your friend...maybe sister...mom and a few friends....but i wouldn't want my friend doing one if i had just about everything i need already.

I would see if maybe you could just do a girls night out (or in) either right before or shortly after.
