If trump was given the opportunity to carry out his deal I can guarantee you that we wouldn’t be in the shape we are now!
They wouldn’t have our military supplies.
Our marines wouldn’t have been killed.
People wouldn’t have been rushing planes at the airport.
This was a disaster. Biden was so quick to undo everything trump did….except this?!?!

The Taliban took over because after the deal was made that EXCLUDED the actual Afghan government the provincial leaders saw the writing on the wall and made deals with the Taliban to save their own heads. They had already started to fold before Biden even took office. It was just a matter of when. And don't even get me start on all the Taliban he had released. What a joke.
Trump sold us out. I applaud exiting Afghanistan but NOT the way he did it. Biden was in a no win situation. I don't claim it was all done perfectly but I am relieved to be out of a twenty year war.
Now we as an international community need to hold Afghanistan accountable the way we should hold all dictatorships accountable.

Good questions. I think the dealing with them appealed to Trump because of his tendency to pander to "strongmen" - his first foreign trip was to Saudi Arabia, a country with a terrible human rights record. But the presidency was always about making money for him, so that governed most of his decisions, and he has many business interests there. So dealing with the Taliban went along with that.
It also goes along with his general "isolationist" approach which pulled America away from much of our world interactions, for better or worse.
It's also a plan that had bipartisan support.
Dictatorships often don't let people leave, or least make it difficult. If people know what it's like elsewhere they might not want to go back plus then they can speak to journalists freely.

I also still want to know why Trump didn't pull out 100% while he was in office if he would have done such a better job. Why didn't he then? He had almost a year from when the treaty was signed so why didn't he finish what he started if he is so strong and controlling?
Because he KNEW he wouldn't be able to make it happen without repercussions like what unfortunately is taking place now. There is absolutely no other reason for him to have not pulled out before the end of his term.

She and other Biden voters just won't admit that while Trump is not the best choice, Biden was thrown in there JUST so the democrats could have control. They knew what they were doing.
I am shocked he has lasted this long but I just saw him a day or two ago and he is aging quickly. He can't do this and GOD FORBID if something happens to him we will have someone worse. JUST BECAUSE we HAD to have a woman in office. ANY woman is fine with so many people.

AA doesn’t work and has a very low success rate. They have proven to be damaging to many people. There are more effective treatments than NA or AA.

What would have this looked like on May 1st if Biden has pulled out of the treaty that Trump agreed to?
At the point that Biden took office, the troops were drawn down to 2500k. Trump brokered to have 5000 Taliban prisoners released over a year before the 5/1/2021 deadline. Where did all those Taliban prisoners go? They went to Afghanistan.
So, Biden breaks the treaty with the Taliban and does not withdraw forces. He can't just leave the 2500k troop there along with the embassy and the Americans so he has to now aggressively move more troops in to Afghanistan. I do believe that there were missteps with the withdrawal. I think that our Intelligence should have had more knowledge of how quickly the Afghan government would fall.
Biden did take responsibility - in every press conference.
Biden also was committed to ending the war in Afghanistan so why would he break a treaty that would escalate military presence and boots on the ground which he would have had to do if he broke the treaty.

As for your comment, tragic as any death is I hope that you understand that those who enlist do so with the CLEAR understanding that serving in the armed forces comes with GREAT risk of injury and/or death. I have many friends and family who have served, this is something that is distinctly understood and accepted by the familes and those that enlist. Sadly, not everyone who serves gets to come home.
