Gift for a newly adopted child??
Hi! My cousin just adopted an older child (she is 8) from Africa...any suggestions for a gift we can send her? My girls are so excited for their new cousin and we can't see her for a while since she will be transitioning to her new home and family life. They are begging to send her something, but I don't have any ideas? Anything special you received/gave?

That is truly wonderful news. Congratulations to your family on its new addition.
One thing to keep in mind. This child probably did not have many if any toys so keep it simple and maybe gage your gift at a year or so younger than her actual age. I would go with stuffed or plush toys or baby dolls. Simple toys that all little girls can relate to. Be careful with large stuffed toys they may be too overwheming and even a little scarey depending on the childs background.
