Gift for mom w/ 2nd child?
Hi everyone, just a quick question. My friend is delivering her 2nd baby this week (c-section) and I want to bring a gift to the hospital since she didn't have a shower. Any suggestions? What is something that you would have liked right after giving birth? Not sure if boy or girl yet. TIA!

Honestly, an IOU for dinner once I was home and a cup of Starbucks with a magazine or two while I was in the hospital.
With my second, a friend of mine did this. She came in the middle of the afternoon while I was alone, we had a cup of coffee together and a muffin and just visited. A few weeks later she
came to visit on a night my husband was out of town and brought Greek food and a gift for the baby. I have to say it was super thoughtful and I loved having her company each time.

one of my friends bought me a giant box of diapers in size 1 that was really great. DD is 6 weeks old and we still arent finished with the box yet!

I would have loved for someone to babysit #1, so DH and I could bond with #2 in the hospital. My parents watched him during the day, but it drained them and we were always worrying about picking him up and him being in the hospital, etc
Not sure if you are up for that? Other than that - I loved when people brought me dunkin donuts!

I was with my parents for the first week #2 was born and it really helped out having someone help out with DS (my two are 15 months apart so he still needed the attention).
I also didn't have a second a shower and I think maybe buy something once you find out what she has for the baby. I received so many gifts for my son between the shower and after he was born and hardly anyone acklowdedged my daughter. I was so hurt by it, not even a phone call in some cases. So I think even something small like a carter's outfit or maybe something that say "My first Christmas" or "My first Hannukah" (depending on what they celebrate) if the baby is coming within a few days. My son was born the day before Easter and I didn't have anything for him that stated that since he was early.
Also a frozen meal that they can defrost later would be a great help.
