H pylori

I did a search but everything I found was old.

I went to get my first colonoscopy this week and I asked also for an endoscopy as I have occasional reflux.

Anyway, the results of the endoscopy revealed I had h pylori. I am supposed to start taking antibiotics and antacids after I finish my current antibiotics I am on for dental work (it’s been a great week lol).

Has anyone been diagnosed with this? What actions did you take? I’ve googled and people said the antibiotics were rough and suggestions were made for an all natural course instead. It seems also that a lot of people get diagnosed after extreme pain. I do have burning feelings at times (when I fasted for the colonoscopy I had really bad pains and my husband thought I was crazy but how it makes sense).

Thanks!

I would go the natural route with this, you will experience die off and have some awful symptoms at first but it's better than the antibiotic route, and they say the antibiotics don't actually kill it and you often need more than one round. I researched this extensively because I thought this is what I had a couple of years ago when I had a reflux issue (more silent than anything). I took Mastic Gum extract for a while which does kill it. I also know that Manuka Honey is great for it. Get a high MGO count. I did both of these things and absolved any issue I was having! I did have an endoscopy and they never did say h. Pylori but I don't know that they even tested for that. I found out about h. Pylori after the results came in and he just said I need to be on PPIs for irritated stomach lining, which I didn't want to take since it's a mask really. Good luck!

Also I believe h. Pylori can be transferred back and forth with intimate contact (kissing) I did read. Not sure how accurate that is.. but research it and maybe have your SO do a round of Mastic Gum

DH goes for endoscopies every 1-2 years and doesnt seem to have it.

I am kind of glad I know what these odd occasional stomach pains are now - it was diagnosed as part of the biopsies they did during the endoscopy.

Re: H pylori

You should just take the antibiotics. Long term untreated H. pylori can lead to gastric cancer. The antibiotics really aren’t that bad. Just take with some probiotics.

Thanks! I have the antibiotics, I haven’t started them yet as I finished antibiotics for dental work this week so the Dr. said to take a few days in between but either starting tomorrow or Monday. I spoke with friends who worked in GI specialties and they said to take them.
