keto coffee for weight loss... eta with clarification

has anyone tried this?

i see it a lot on IG and was wondering if anyone has used it.

i'm toying with the idea of trying something to help kick start some weight loss. i started talking with a trainer, but would like to have the mental boost of seeing the scale move... and i do love me some coffee.

tia

keto coffee for weight looss

Keto coffee alone won’t do it. It is all part of the keto diet.

Re: keto coffee for weight looss

You have to follow keto completely. The coffee is actually very high in calories on its own. (It has heavy cream, butter, and oil in it!) It won't make you lose weight without following the actual keto diet along with it

Re: keto coffee for weight looss

i've been on the keto diet for a few weeks now, not for weight loss but for insulin / sugar issues. I gotta tell you.. i feel soo much better cutting the processed sugar out.

Keto coffee alone wont help you lose weight. It needs to be in conjunction with a high fat / moderate protein / low carb diet.

Is it IT Works keto coffee ? I have a friend who sells it but she also follows keto diet.

It works sells an instant keto coffee with good ingredients and macros. But it tastes DISGUSTING in my opinion.
The real stuff tastes sooooo much better.
But in a pinch... while traveling, or at work...I guess it's a good alternative if you can get used to the taste

Re: keto coffee for weight looss

Just doing the coffee could possibly make you GAIN weight, because it is pretty much just fat. And in fact, most people well versed in keto will tell you that the fat bombs (which the bulletproof coffee is) are not "good" for you or necessary, and are not aiding weight loss at all. They were originally designed to help epileptic kids GAIN weight.

Exactly. DH will use a bulletproof coffee as a meal REPLACEMENT sometimes. (no time for lunch, need something quick) It is very satiating due to the fat content, but it is very caloric and has to be worked into your macros/calories for the day.
It shouldn't be used as your morning coffee.

Re: keto coffee for weight looss

I havent made bullet proof coffee yet. i have coffee at work with a splash of half / half and stevia.

Im not tracking macros either. But Im not eating processed sugars and keep myself to about 25 grams of carbs a day. for me its not for weight loss b/c weight isnt my issue. but I was eating so much crap at night (cookies or icecream); having bad snacks during the day at work...u know the office is killer with stuff people bring in, or my own candy jar I would keep and grab candy from between meals.

I would always feel hungry. I was so tired and fatigued. My holistic dr felt I was showing signs of insulin resistance and pre-diabetes. So she wanted me to try this for a while. I feel a million times better. I've had more energy the past 3 weeks than i've had in years honestly.

I have made "fat bombs" ..lol. Basically almond butter / chocolate mini cups, or pb / chocolate mini cups, to satisfy the chocolate fix. but its usually not even a whole fat bomb..lol.

Dh says he has never felt better in his life. He's been eating this way over a year, is down over 100 lbs, has cured a fatty liver, blood sugar is ideal now, no more heartburn meds, no more snoring, no more joint pain, tons of energy, never gets sick with colds or viruses etc anymore.
He is never hungry. Never has cravings.
A lot of people think keto is all about eating a shit ton of fat and it's all bacon and eggs and streak and butter. But if done right, its about tons of green, leafy veggies, fish, healthy fats and omegas, organic meats, and reducing inflammation by cutting out processed foods and things like soybean oil, and other inflammatory foods. He eats only whole, real foods and nothing processed.
It is truly amazing to me what changing his diet to this way of eating has done

ETA: i've heard about bulletproof coffee, but i'm referring to a pre-packaged product called "keto coffee." i'm sorry if i created a confusion.

it says that you don't have to follow "the plan" for it to work.

has anyone heard of it or tried it.

The one from It Works?
If so, I can tell you it tastes like utter shit and again will do nothing to make you lose weight without diet and exercise..
It's 100 calories and 9 grams of fat.
It's pretty much just an instant version of bulletproof coffee- for use on the go.

"utter shit" ?!?!?!?!
no thanks. lol

i looked into bulletproof coffee once and asked about it here. at the time, i didn't know it was a part of the keto plan.

i have a co-worker who is following the keto plan and she says that she feels so much better.

looks like i'm going to continue to do research on this stuff.

Yes it tastes bad. If you are a coffee lover you wont' like it.
The real bulletproof coffee that you make yourself, actually tastes good. I've tried my husband's once and it was surprisingly yummy. Like a rich latte almost.

Definitely do some research into the keto diet. DH did all his research online and read a book written by a cardiologist called Fat for Fuel. It gave him a ton of information to get started and to make the decision.

I know on the CBD oil thread you mentioned you were looking to reduce inflammation. This diet does exactly that.

yes, inflammation is a big motivator in reevaluating my food intake.

thanks.

That IS bulletproof coffee, just pre-made. It's really simple to make it yourself and probably tastes a whole lot better (not to mention cheaper).

You're still just drinking coffee and fat.

If you're not sticking to a ketogenic diet the coffee will do nothing for you.

check out the book bulletproof diet by Dave Asprey. I think this is where bulletproof coffee comes from.
