Halloween classroom treat

Dd2 is in a once-weekly program for ages 18-30 mos. They told us to bring Halloween goodies to give out that will go home with the kids. Do you think they mean an edible treat, or a tchotchke? Any specific ideas what I should get? There's only 10 kids in the class.

In case it matters, On other unrelated notices going home, there's been a note that her class has no allergies, so in general food stuff is ok.

Something like this would be perfect. I wouldn't do any candy for kids that young.

I got a similar notice. I was thinking of doing a toy type thing bc I have no desire for her to bring home a dozen bags of candy and junk food. I think I have Halloween tattoos I bought last year at target so I may have her give those out.

I'm making Halloween cookies with a type of royal icing. Last year I sent in crayons in Halloween shapes. They're super easy to make. My DS was 18 months last year and definitely brought home candy lol. Nothing crazy, like a few Hershey kisses and m&ms.

No artificial dyes and sugars, duh!!! Just kidding. I giggle myself at the notion of "organic processed foods."

LOL. Organic sugar will still rot your teeth and make you fat just as quickly as the old fashioned, pesticidal sugar!

That was a bit rude. Was your comment really necessary?

I realize it's all still processed junk, but hopefully there's a few less chemicals in them.

At least I'm raising my children to not make nasty comments to others...

It was a joke. You have to realize that specifically listing things like gummy bears and candy corn as organic is funny, no? If I made that list and re-read it I'd laugh to myself.

True, but with less risk of giving you cancer or messing with your nervous system and hormones. I'm sure many parents would appreciate it, especially my friend and her little boy who's chronic disease does not allow his little body to process those chemicals, causing seizures.

Dang, tough crowd here. God forbid you try to do better....

No. I find that it's nice to have versions of treats like this available without as many detrimental chemicals.

Listen, my kid eats crap, including non-organic crap. But, when there's an easily available option that doesn't have as much awful stuff in it, I feel a tad better about letting my kids eat it.

Until this year, I hadn't seen as many organic options for Halloween, so it was an exciting thing for me.

Again, I'm just not sure why you and the bandwagon feel the need to be nasty.

Draw a jack o lantern face on mandarin orange cups.
Ghost face on string cheese. Look them up on google. They're cute and easy.

Re: Halloween classroom treat

Thanks everyone! I got little bags and will be putting in Halloween-themed rubber ducks, Halloween stickers, and some Hershey's kisses.

I figured that even for us parents who hate clutter, after a few baths with the duck, it's fine to toss it!
