I've never been to sesame place but love DW. I know my son wouldn't like sesame since he hates characters and also has never watched Sesame Street.

I think Sesame is better for that age -- especially if they like the show

We took DS 2 when he was 15 mos old to DW and he enjoyed it. I don't know if I would have taken him though if we didn't have DS 1 who was 3.5 though.

DD is just under 15 months and we're going to Sesame Place this weekend. She's obsessed with the show. We walked by a toy store this morning with a stuffed Elmo in the window and she was kicking and pointing and saying "momo!" It made me even more excited to go!

I was torn too and was leaning towards Dutch wonderland but DD recently became obsessed with Elmo so sesame it is. I am a little worried about her being afraid of the characters so we might have a long day ahead of us!

Just returned from both less than 3 weeks ago. We loved Dutch Wonderland (have a 4 and two year old). My daughter is on the smaller side and there was so much for her to do. The staff was excellent and it wasnt overly crowded. We hated Sesame Place and vouched never to return. The crowd just wasnt for us and the staff moves extremely slow. We also felt the whole place was chaotic. My daughter doesnt do too well with crowds so it was hard for us to navigate and enjoy ourselves. If you do decide on Sesame Place, stay across the street at Springhill Suites. You can walk to Sesame and save on money for parking. You can also walk to the surrounding restaurants.
Oh and regarding the characters, they would walk super fast through the crowd with a staff member ushering them around. We didnt get the opportunity to take pics. I did see a character at the kiddie splash area though. That was the only one interacting with the crowd. You can also buy tickets for character dining.
