Castor oil
Anyone try it to induce labor or is it an old wives tale? Family swears it works. I'm having contractions every 2-3 minutes but only 1cm dilated. Dr said to walk, have sex, bounce on yoga ball but holy hell am I in pain.

I have friends in labor and delivery and they say don't do it. It can cause severe diarrhea and they say they've seen it. And it's as bad as the stories you hear. Lol

Yes I've heard bad stories also. Are you at home or in the hospital? Those contractions sound pretty close together! Good luck!!

Home. Dr said go home and see if anything progresses because I was only 1cm.

This is correct! Not only can it cause you to have diarrhea it can cause your baby to have a bowel movement before delivery. If he/she ingests that serious complications can occur. I've even heard of a mom who lost her full-term baby because of it so please don't do it! It's not worth the extra couple of days of being uncomfortable.

Stay on your feet as much as you can, do squats, bounce on the physio ball to open your hips. Gravity & time....

Its actually dangerous to you and the baby. Do not use it
All that stuff is horseshit at best, dangerous at worst.
The baby comes when it comes and nothing can really move it along other than a medical intervention.

Thanks all. My dr said she would suggest it if baby isn't here by next Wed as that's my induction date but to hold off. I just went for a 2 mile walk at the beach and keep contracting but they aren't going anywhere. Going to crash and walk more tomorrow.
