I recently started working in Suffolk and everyone kept telling me no one ANYWHERE on LI has sewers. I had to pull up the 3 year old real estate listing for my house to prove I do in fact have sewers in Nassau because they wouldn't stop arguing with me.
I'm SO excited to tell them they're wrong
Obviously those people knew nothing about Long Island!!!

My parents got sewers in Nassau County in around 1985. I remember distinctively when they were getting them hooked up

Many areas in Suffolk have sewers but only for street drainage. The cesspool is for waste from the house. I believe in Nassau sewers are for both.
We have no cesspool. Our sewers are for house waste. I twas actually a selling point when we bought the house. I am in Suffolk. It really depends on the individual neighborhood
