Places to move to in NC & GA
Hi all!!
I'm just curious as to what cities I would look into to move to NC or GA. I'm beginning to research this possibility. I need to bring some facts to DH about looking for a home outside of NY. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance ladies...you never let me down.

I'm live in GA. FM me on whqat specifically you are looking for. Where would you work and that would help narrow some cities down for you.

Re: Places to move to in NC & GA
I lived in Charlotte, NC for a year and it was really nice there. A lot of people from NY are moving there so it actually was not like living in the south at all. Good luck with your search!!

Re: Places to move to in NC & GA
I went there to visit and the 2 places we liked were: Concord (near Charlotte) (new construction development called Moss Creek) It had the school in the development which I loved and Carabbus County schools
Lake Wylie,SC (borders Charlotte). Cheaper taxes than Charlotte and you could work in Charlotte. Great Schools
and Rolesville (near Raleigh) We liked a new construction community called the Village at Rolesville. These houses were cheaper than Raleigh and Apex and Cary. You could have an inground pool and a fence. Some communities wouldn't let you have them.
If you put in a search for those you can see the house plans of the builders. I loved my trip there. I want to move but would lose money on the house we bought in LI last year.

We love Charlotte area. We were living in Southpark. Schools are great
We now live in Huntersville, north of Charlotte. Slightly cheaper, very nice.
My sister lives in Asheville, love it there.
Wilimington was really nice too.

Re: Places to move to in NC & GA
from what I understand Charolette NC has a lot of Northerners/NY'ers.
I'm in GA....I live in a small town half way between Atlanta and Athens...2 major cities. The big civilization push is headed our way (think LI 30 years ago) so we're hoping to make a profit someday.
I believe Roswell GA was one of the top cities/towns in GA to live in or for potential growth.
Alpharetta is pretty big and near the city.
Eva Luna is in Conyers not far from me.
Gwinnett County is by far one of the LARGEST and FASTEST growing counties here (towns of Buford, Suwanee, Lawrenceville to name a few).

Clayton, NC (about 30 min. from Raleigh) is a beautiful area, lower taxes than Raleigh, great school districts....
