Christening
My sons are having their christening in early May. Do I need favors? Do I need a theme? Or can I just put flowers on the tables? I need ideas!

Re: Christening
You can do whatever you want! I do not think a theme is necessary.

I don't think a theme is necessary; I do think it's nice to always give a little favor. Maybe some chocolate crosses?

You don't need a theme. I did a color scheme like navy and gold or light blue and white. I would do an edible favor flowers or balloons on the table is fine

Re: Christening
I didn't have a theme other than silver and pink Christening decorations because that's what Party City had. lol I gave out Hersey Kisses in little silver boxes and personalized Tic Tacs.

I didn't have a theme for DD's. My MIL made chocolate covered pretzels as favors. We didn't even have centerpieces (it was a lunch at a nice restaurant that closed for the party). No one noticed.

Re: Christening
It's a Christening so what would the theme be? God? No theme. You can pick a color scheme though...only if you want. And I"d give a favor....something edible

I feel very strongly that religious events should be about the sacrament- no theme and favors are optional

I agree with the majority-- no theme but a color scheme helps tie things together (flowers, invitations, cake, favors)
For DD1' christening in june we had ivory and light pink flowers as centerpieces (ivory hydrangeas and light pink roses) and did a candy bar as a favor
For DD2's christening in October I did jewel colored flowers as centerpieces, ruby, purple, etc. and did cupcakes to go as favors.
ETA: For DD"2s christening the cupcakes, invitations and cake were all pastel c olored.. but centerpieces were jewel colored so.. I didn't even stick tio a color scheme.

My DS christening is next week and I've done nothing. I'm going to do a color theme and that's it. We're kepping it small this time and having it at my brothers condo party room. Favors, I'm going to make personalized Hershey bars. It's so easy, relatively cheap, and who doesn't love a good old Hershey bar hahaha
