I never really got them as a couple. He has made comments about wives and parenting that show that he can't really respect her the way I think a wife should be respected, but that's just me.

She looked very frightened to me and not because of the shoes. Like others have said, she did not want this and I think she is more aware of the disdain for her husband than any of the rest of them. I think she genuinely (sadly) fears for her child's safety, her safety and her husband's safety. There are nuts out there and all this division and hate mongering would have me paranoid, too.

She looks terrified and like a hostage. I feel bad for her and her little boy who also looked nervous. They did not ask for any of this. I feel like his first wife might've been more excited and happy to be first lady.

I will give credit to where credit is due, I think Melania looked beautiful. However, she looked petrified. I feel bad for her and their son the most, because they don't want this and you can tell.
PS - How rude of him to not even WAIT for her to come around the other side of the car when they pulled up to be greeted by the Obama's. He is such a fuckking turd.

I'm going to come right out and say it, I AM watching today's inauguration, every minute that i can. I don't care who is being sworn I will always watch history happening. I will not ignore it.
He is my President, because I am an American and proud of it. I may not have voted for him (in fact, i did not vote at all) but I will hope for the future of America that he succeeds.

I didn't watch- I had some errands I wanted out of the way before DD got home from school but I did see the clip where the Trumps got out of the car and Donald went right over to the Obamas without waiting for Melania. Then I saw a photo from behind of her with an Obama on either side, each with an arm around her. For the first time I felt badly for her because it seems like he's not even thinking of her. She did look beautiful in a Jackie O kind of way (which always works IMO)

They sure do seem to keep their distance from the boy. Even at the parade he's doing his own thing a few steps away.
I haven't watched the whole thing so I'm sure I missed the moment when they showed him some affection or acted like he was their son.
