I STILL haven't tried this and people look at my like I am crazy! haha I was waiting till the hype died down at the port jeff location and i forgot about it honestly.
they jsut opened one at the broadway mall... and i went to the mall on my lunch break a few times.. and the lines for the drive thru were INSANEEEEEEE So i just assumed the inside was just as bad... I will wait till the hype dies down there too (and probably forget about it )

Yeah I remember it was like that when Sonic opened in deer park. Insane lines. One day I waited on line. The food was disgusting and they royally screwed up my order. So that's no indication of the quality!

It's fast food, it's not gourmet food. Don't have high expectations. Again, it's a chicken sandwich. compared to wendys or McDonald's chicken, it's way better. The spicy fried chicken sandwich with extra pickles is where it's at.

The company's politics bother me, but I never really liked it anyway. I don't get the hype.
I lived in NC about 17 years ago and people raved about it. I thought it was really just OK.
I definitely would never stand on the lines I'm seeing just to get some fried chicken. I rarely get chicken out anyway - fried or otherwise because it grosses me out. Oh, except the occasional Chicken nugget - which is really so much better.

I love the crispy chicken sandwiches from both Wendys and Mcdonalds so I'm probably gonna drool over the Chick-Fil-A one LoL
I hardly eat fast food. But as soon as I'm over whatever stomach bug I have, I need to try this!

The first time I had it was in an airport, and I totally didn't get the hype, thought it was gross. but if you think about it, airport food is precooked, and sitting around.
But then I had it an actual establishment and for fast food, I think it's far superior to the other options.
They're big in the allergy/gf community for being safe. It's the only fast food my kids can eat, so maybe that makes it more appealing to me!

Damn I am shocked at the responses! I had it for the first time this year after moving to FL, I think it's amazing! The chicken is always perfect. My guess is that the ingredients are different in NY (different suppliers or whatever).
I find that things at a lot of chain restaurants are better outside of NY.
Like Buffalo Wild Wings - there is one in the mall by my house and it's pretty bad but, the ones I've been to in Ohio are really good.
ETA - I love Chick Fil A. I haven't eaten it in NY though, just down south.
I tried it outside NY and didn't care for it.
Same. It was so salty.

I'm lucky enough to have one 3 minutes away! Love their salads and wraps!!
As for their "anti-gay" stance....they hire gay employees, they don't discriminate against gay customers. It's a christian based company founded by Christians who have beliefs based on the bible. Not my beliefs, but I'm not sure I can fault them for it.

It's not really about their beliefs, it's about where their money goes.
Their non profit arm donates a huge amount of money to the Fellowship for Christian Athletes, an anti gay organization.
I realize that I can't totally avoid shopping with companies whose owners are anti gay on a personal level, but if some of their profits are going to those types of causes, that is enough for me to stay away.

They are franchised owned. I am not religious at all and think most religions are questionable in nature to be entirely honest but I agree with doing good for people. I also like to eat. So there's that.
I don't care what an owner of a company does with his/her free time. I care how they treat their employees. CFA does a good job. They aren't preaching to me or my family on ANY level. Well other than not giving me my fix on Sundays.

I LOVVVVVE Chick-Fil-A!! Just had it today for lunch... Got their Cool Chicken Wrap--one of my favorites. Nothing tops their original chicken sandwich though...and I like it with extra pickles.
Their lemonade is pretty great too.
