Best Airlines for Flights To Miami
DH and I took American Airlines this past spring when we had to fly to Miami for a cruise. We are going again next spring but didn't really care for AA. Any suggestions on a air carrier? It's 8 of us going in total and prefer to fly morning of the cruise.

Re: Best Airlines for Flights To Miami
I flew Southwest out of Islip to Fort Lauderdale and it was a pretty quick Uber ride to Miami. It's very close. Leaving from Islip was a pleasure as much as I am not a fan of Southwest
ETA- if you want to fly into Miami though, I'd suggest Jet Blue

JetBlue doesn't fly into Miami. They fly into Fort Lauderdale as well.
American is the main airline at the Miami airport so they have the most flight options unfortunately.
My company has an office in Miami and after many travel disasters, I started flying into and out of FLL as well - it's a much nicer experience.

I've flown Delta into Miami in the past & will do so again in October. I've never had a bad experience with Delta.

Delta. Prefer them over American. We flew them to Miami last year for our cruise. They were fine.

Re: Best Airlines for Flights To Miami
My issue with Delta is the leg room. Good lord their regular seats would only fit a child comfortably. I have to upgrade to comfort select which is fine because its like $30 or less and includes unlimited drinks. Well worth it! Their comfort select seats give you the leg room of a regular seat on other airlines. It's by no means spacious but at least its doable.

I am surprised to be saying this but....On our last delta flight this month to Seattle we were in regular coach. I am 5"8' so frequently my knees touch. They did not this flight. Now they also have unlimited free entertainment. We flew Delta out there and Jet blue coming back (Delta only had a very late flight returning from our cruise and we did not want to be at the airport all day long). Surpringly Delta's flight blew jet blue away. More leg room, more comfortable seats. Tvs on jet blue were broken for the first 2 hours of the 6 hour flight. But on Delta the entertainment was great. All movies (over 150-200 choices) tv and all games were free. Now it really depends on the plane you get, but our jet blue plane was old. Cushions in the seats were rock hard, knees touching the seat in front, many tvs once they hot them going were my working, very limited entertainment. My kids said they don't want to fly jet blue again. We squally like jet blue, but those around us said it was the worst jet blue plane ever. Oh and they had no food for sale on the 6 hour flight just given one snack and one drink (one bag of chips, or cookies). Delta came by 2 times with snacks and drinks and sold snack packs that were ok.

Delta's seat room is entirely dependent on the aircraft being used. I've flown them like 5 times this year, and most of the time the leg room is non existent, and I'm 5'2. Our last flight was a huge difference, but we were on a 767. Their tpyical comfort seats are the same size at standard seats like on Southwest.
Our last flight coming home from my Grandma's memorial was atrocious. Delayed for hours, then I switched to another flight with their "free app" they advertise, that was delayed for hours due to no crew because of the mandatory rest period. Then a/c didn't work once on board. We were dropped in the middle of a runway at LGA and had to take a crammed shuttle to the terminal. My bag wasn't put on the plane, despite tracking it and it being expedited to the new flight, along with a bunch of others. There wasn't enough room, and only those with connecting flights had their bags put on. It was horrible. After a well written complaint letter, they did give me $300 in vouchers to use for Delta or other merchants (I chose another merchant).

Yeah I haven't had good experiences at all. I had to pay extra to have the same leg room I'd get in a normal seat on another airline. Just in general, wasn't a great experience I avoid Delta if I can..

JetBlue used to fly to Miami. I HATE AA. Unfortunately, you often have no choice. No problem from FLL to cruise port.

I really don't think Jetblue ever flew to Miami airport. Miami is home to American Airlines just like Atlanta is home to Delta.
