Right wing conspiracy theory
Has anyone else seen this circulating? My coworker just gave it to me. To summarize, it said something to effect of, Hillary will win the election but will be indicted before she can take office and in a chain of events, it will be Obama's way of securing a third term.
Do people really believe this nonsense?

Considering that can't possibly happen under any circumstance....
Even IF Hillary was convicted of something, there is a very well established and documented chain of succession for dealing with a lack of a President. Presidents who have served two terms aren't on that list of replacements.
Even if this event happens after the election, but before taking office.
What happens if a President Elect dies (or is unable to serve)

This. There is no way it could ever happen so if that story is going around then people need to brush up on their government system.

If a winning Presidential candidate dies or becomes incapacitated between the counting of electoral votes in Congress and the inauguration, the Vice President elect will become President, according to Section 3 of the 20th Amendment.

I think anything is possible. There are many odd conspiracy theories. There's even one that Obama is behind BLM so he can declare Martial Law.
I don't believe in these theories BUT in the past, there has been some shady crap that happened in the US Government. Behold a Pale Horse is an interesting read. It talks about some theories.

I worked with a whack job that actually got himself fired over his consipriacy theories.
He was a salesperson and as soon as he was hired he would spew his crap to anyone in ear shot.
He believed that 9/11 was all engineered by the gov't and that the planes that flew into the towers had nobody in them. As in, nobody died on those planes, there was no terorists who hijacked them, it was all just a lie created by the gov't and the gov't flew 2 planes loaded with explosives into the towers.
He also said that the story of the plane that was brought down by passengers and the whole "Let's Roll" story was all bullshitt too.
Well at every event, he would tell this story. He would go on for hours, just telling anyone in ear shot. He had details, and wild, wild theories, and would try to prove to you why he was right.
One of my VP's lost a brother in law in the towers and it is still a very sore subject to him so he told him to please stop, he didn't want to hear about it and that work functions were not the appropriate place to discuss these things.
This guy continued on and on. He was spoken to by his boss who told him he couldn't speak about these theories at work, around co workers and especially around clients.
Soon after that he started up with it again at a vendor event and several of the people from that vendor complained to his boss AGAIN.
He was let go the next day.
Unreal the amount of nuts out there and the stories they concoct.
