All the babies in dd's daycare class have them (all are under a year). It's actually on the list of supplies to bring and apparently I was the only parent to question it.

Around 11-12 months. But I was a small one that just fit his body. Now at 16 months he uses a bigger one, but I still feel sometimes he gets tangled in a large one so I try to use smaller ones

B is 21 months and still doesn't have a blanket or pillow

I can't actually remember when we gave DS one. But DD is almost 14 months and I gave her one at just over a year when she started walking and we stopped using the sleep sack.

We gave DD the Aden and Anais dream blanket to sleep with when she was about 16 months.

Dd1 was in a sleep sack until she moved to a toddler bed at almost 2.5. Dd2 had a knit blanket shortly after her first birthday.

We had a blanket from the very beginning of putting her in the crib about 10 weeks old. My mom and grandmother and even in laws all said they swaddled with blankets and used blankets for their children and never dealt with a sleep sack. We tried the sleep sack but DD loves her blankets and is doing fine with them. HTH!


Edit to say we use Aden and anais muslin blankets - the thicker Muslin I think it's 4 layers?

From a few months on. DD loves her blanket.

She's 26 months now, and still has no blanket or pillow. The kids all around the crib, I don't see how a blanket could help stay on for more than a minute or two

she was also in a twin by then too.
my daughter would NOT sleep in her crib
she always had a blanket though for naps from birth

I didn't use a blanket until she transitioned to a bed, mainly bc she wouldn't keep one on. She's almost 4 and there are times when she wakes me up in the middle of the night to recover her and I wish she could still use a sleep sack, lol!

ones with holes (crochet ones) after a year then probably almost 2 before giving a regular.

i know people who sue regular blankets way before a year

It's been a long time but if I recall correctly I think he had a blanket by about 8 months.

My SIL gave her DD a blanket as early as 4 or 5 months (as soon as she was out of a swaddle). And it wasn't a muslin blanket. It always made me nervous when she stayed with us overnight, but she was fine.

I plan to use the muslin blankets (4-layers) with this baby and probably give it to her early on.
