Bankruptcy cost/ attorney recommendations
Does anybody know how much it costs to claim bankruptcy if I hire an attorney? I am also looking for somebody who does free consultations in Suffolk county. Thanks!

Bankruptcy cost/ attorney recommendations
I would go with them, they are well versed in BK laws. In addition, they do offer payment plans.
ETA, Chapter 13 (where you pay back a portion or all of your debt, and are trying to save your home from foreclosure) is more expensive than Chapter 7.

Thanks- I have lots of questions. This is for a family member who owns 2 properties (1 he resides in and the other is just some land upstate). He also signed over another house to my husband and I over 7 years ago. I want to make sure nothing happens to our house and what would happen to his house and the other land property.

Those are questions your family member would have to ask his BK attorney. There are a lot of variables involved....worth, mortgages, his income, etc. I honestly don't know that any firm will give you a free consultation regarding another family member's BK though. The house he signed over to you wouldn't be an issue for you though.

I have no experience using him for bankruptcy, but he was a total a$$ to my mom when she talked to him about something for his client. I posted a few weeks ago about the car accident she had. It's totally unrelated, but still.

My best friend used him for a complicated bankruptcy no other attorney would touch it. He was wonderful and extremely knowledgable !
