Lost Lovey!
I'm so upset. My father-in-law just texted me that they lost my DDs lovey this morning. They have looked everywhere and even went back to the store they were in this morning to look for it. I'm sick to my stomach at work because I know how much she loves it. I've been looking for backups for a while now just in case this ever happened but I can't find one. Its a mermaid baby rattle from Carter's that I got her when she was first born. Please let me know if anyone knows where I can get a backup!!

Oh no! I just looked to see if there are any on ebay and I found one.. Might be more than you want to pay but if it means making your daughter happy than i'm sure there is no price on that!

Ugh, no advice, but been there. Its awful and heartbreaking.
Check your local moms groups...Ill post on mine and see if any moms maybe have one.
I shared on my local moms group to see if any of them had one.

OMG how did I miss that?!! Thank you, thank you. I feel so much better now knowing that there's at least 1 out there.

Thank you. It is heartbreaking. My boss just asked me if they found it and I literally had to hang up the phone with him bc I started to tear up....over a doll, seriously.
I get it! One time when DD was around 2 and obsessed with her tiny Elmo doll, DH told me that he lost it on a walk with her. He even drove the neighborhood but couldn't find it.
I was so upset I had to tell my boss I had an emergency, hang up on a call with him, and run to Target to see if I could get another. I was tearing up the whole way there.
It's funny how these things affect us!
I'm sorry it's lost!

OMG! I understand. DD2 has a blankie that she LOVES. Will not sleep without it, takes it to parties, daycare, Target... I would be a hysterical mess if it got lost. Hers was custom made (a colleague of mine knit it for her). If your daughter's doll is available on ebay, GRAB IT!

Thanks everyone...I ordered that one from ebay. We'll keep looking but at least we have a backup on the way.

Good luck! DD1 has a lovey and a baby doll that she sleeps with every night. The doll was purchased at a Marshalls and no matter how much I search, I can't find it. I hope we never lose it. The lovey is from old navy and they stopped selling it before she became attached so when I realized I should get a backup, I could only find it on ebay- for $40! Luckily DH's friend's son had the same one and didn't like it so they gave it to us!
There's a lost lovey website. I'll see if I can find it.

When my ds was 6 months he was obsessed with a Carter's bunny. Couldn't sleep without it. My aunt told me to buy another just in case. I went on eBay and paid a ridiculous amount of money for 2 extra ones (never mind the endless search and not knowing the name). We kept one for him, 1 in my parents and 1 in the closet. When he was 3 he found all 3 and sleeps with them ever since. He's 8 and a half now and still sleeps with all 3 and his "favorite" one, which is the original bc is more worn out, is the one he can't live without lol. He can distinguish between all 3 of them. I'm glad you found the extra, because now almost 9 yrs later, Ds loves looking at pics of when he was a baby and with his favorite "teddy".
