do they check your ID when you show your membership card when parking?
My friend offered me her membership card so i can take advantage of the free parking, but we are not sure how it works. Will they ask for ID when I pull in or out of the lot or just show the card and they grant free entry?

They ask for ID when you park, and when you enter the zoo. You definitely cannot use someone else's membership.

I used my friends membership before but she gave me her ID. you will def. need her ID. I looked nothing like my friend so really they just want the ID that matches the card. Also I remember when we did it they didn't ask for the ID at the parking lot (I had it ready but didn't have to give it my DH was driving ) but I did show it at the entrance

Yes - they check your id and you have to use it multiple times at the zoo.

I have always had to show id when parking. We were there last week and I then showed it at the gate but not again while in the park.

They check your picture Id (Drivers license) and membership card when you park then they check your membership card all throughout the zoo at places where you would pay extra. I think the only place you can't use the card is at the camel ride.

You need to show your ID at the gate in the parking lot and sometimes at the entrance to the park- I usually go in the Bronx River entrance and they do not always check ID at the park entrance- I have never had to show ID at the entrances to attractions like the butterfly garden or children's zoo.

They do not ask for ID to park in the regular lot but if the members lot is open they will ask for ID as you don't go through a gate if you park in the members lot. They always ask for it at the admission gates. They have never in the 8 years we have had memberships been asked for ID at places like the Congo, carousel, butterfly, movie. They ask only for the card there. I would plan to be asked for ID at the parking gate. Btw they have always looked at the ID. Not sure you could really use another person's.

Yes, they definitely check id when you park. We park in Bronx River and they check when you drive in the first booths and then again once you've been directed to the back lot in Asia. I don't see how you could get away with using someone else's id. I was in the back seat feeding DD one time and DH handed my id to the attendant and they asked who I was - they didn't see me back there.

We were members two years ago and went about six times. They absolutely 100% checked my driver's license at the parking lot and again at the entrance. They did not check my license again at the special exhibit stuff. That said, not sure that they actually looked at ME.
