Job Searching
When I apply to a job every call I get back is from a staffing agency, been on Indeed mostly. Any good websites you recommend when job searching? Looking to apply directly to the company.
thanks!

Re: Job Searching
Well I can tell you that it's not a bad thing.
We recently hired some internal recruiters, but before that, we had no way to find employees on our own. Job boards were expensive, nobody had the time or skill to be looking for employees.
So we'd go out to our partners- which were staffing agencies- saying, hi, we are looking to fill such and such role, here is what we need....
And they would look for us.
So a staffing agency that calls you most likely is working for the end client- just kind of doing the dirty work, screening resumes, etc.
If they feel you are a fit, they will pass you on to the end client and it will go from there.

I have also heard that applying on company websites is sometimes a black hole and that the only way to find a job is through staffing agencies/recruiters.

Job Searching
I'm currently looking through indeed and craigslist. Indeed usually pulls directly from other sites and sometimes from companies directly.

The good thing about a staffing agency is that even if you don't get the initial job, if they like you, they'll send you on a ton of interviews. It's not a bad way to go. I had a staffing agency that loved me - they knew I interviewed well, and was a safe bet, and and they sent me on a bunch of interviews and I eventually got a great position. They continue to contact me throughout the years.

Ahh I hear this a lot.
I'm a corporate recruiter - I read every resume for every opening. I want good resumes! Sometimes if there isn't an opening or things changes, you won't hear anything.
