Hoping someone can shed some light on this-
I will be flying with my 2.5 yo and not taking a car seat. What are the airline rules in regards to seatbelts/etc..
Thank you!

They can sit in the seat with the regular seatbelt. Although it's obviously safer to have the car seat. They also sell airplane seat harness things

They sit in their own seat with the normal airline seatbelt.
I have been flying with DS (now 4) since he was an infant. He has had his own seat since 2. I always keep the belt buckled even if hes moving around once we are in the air. I will loosen it if he is getting itchy in his seat.

I have flown with her since she was 2. Never taken a car seat. Always used the seat belt. It fits snug. I keep her buckled down the whole time. The changing table is above the toilet. I purposely did NOT buckle her down until the plane was full. I made SURE to bring a flight attendant by and explained that the little light would turn on and we ALL had to buckle in and the person would come check us all. Very important. Then after that, we played a tickle game until take off. Brought gifts and games for each hour that she'd NEVER seen before and were NOT loud.
She loves to fly!
