Back again need advice Dr T or Dr Zhang for thin lining...

Hi ladies,
I'm back again I've been off for awhile but back on the FET ride again. I'm a patient of Dr B and he isn't able to help me with my recurrent thin lining.
So I made an appt with Dr T which is all the way in March and I also made an appt with Dr Zhang of new hope for Monday.
My question is there anyone who has experienced this I've tried Viagra supp, estrace supp and by mouth, delestrogen injections and neupogen wash all of which has been unsuccessful. Is there another protocol I could use?

I have 3 frozen embryos and this will be it my hubby is done.
Any advice I will consider
Thank you ladies for listening

This post sounds a lot like one I could have made back in 2011-2012. I was a patient or Dr.B for years and ultimately after numerous cycles and losses, my lining had thinned out and no protocol no matter how creative would make it thick. We tried every single thing you described. When it became clear that nothing was working, Dr.B told me the basala cells in my uterus would no longer proliferate due to damage, potentially from a d&c..... and he strongly advised us to consider surrogacy.

I went to MANY second opinions all who agreed that IF (big big big IF) Dr.B is correct that the cells had been damaged to the point where my lining could not be repaired, then surrogacy was the best option. Each of the doctors suggested protocols we could try but at that point I had reached my limit. I was burnt to the core after a 17 week loss, as well as a loss of triplets, among others. I just couldn't deal with more disappoint and felt surrogacy was more of a sure thing. My husband and I agreed to "throw in the towel" so to speak, and get a surrogate.

Well, long... long... LONG story short, but after 9 long month of searching and cycling, my surrogate did not work. As it turned out, we had two canceled transfers with her- why? Because her lining was not getting thick no matter what we did. It felt like de ja vu. Even my surrogate's lining was defective. I joked (in a not so funny way) that every lining I touched turned to shitt.

At that point I was too impatient to go through that process again with another surrogate who I was convinced would not work either- because why would she? I felt so defeated. Figuring I had nothing left lose, I made an appt with Dr.T at SIRM.

I'll get to the point here and say that time made a HUGE difference. My first appointment with Dr.T my lining was a 7 and triple layered and at the time of transfer it was a 10 and triple layered, the thickest it had been in my life! I won't say it was just time, as Dr.T's protocols were different than Dr.B's and it was the cycle that gave me my incredible 2 1/2 year old son. Sometimes a little bit of time and a different set of eyes is just the protocol you need that will make all the difference.

Have you asked Dr.B if he felt time would make a difference here? Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hi PennyCat,
Thank you so much for your reply. I did take a yr off I even changed jobs and obtained better health insurance during that break. I returned to Dr B and tried to start again like you said Dr B thinks that I may not have the cells on my lining. I had a myomectomy in the past and the location of the fibroids was in the cavity which affected the lining. I have done acupuncture, drank so gross teas the works. I meet with Dr Zhang on Monday and Dr T. In the pass I have noticed alot of the women here take highly of Dr T.
I am so happy that it all worked out for you. That gives me great HOPE.
But as for now this is all too frustrating.
How much time did you take off?
Dr B said he would like to perform a hysteroscopy but I don't want to waste anymore time. That is why I scheduled another opinion.
My hubby thinks I'm crazy for doing all this but I want a child.

Thank you again for replying

Chat Icon My break was about 9 months long which was the amount of time we were in the surrogacy process. I never was able to convince myself to take a break prior to that...

A year is a long time, has there been no change at all?
I definitely think another set of eyes is what you need at this point.

I completely get how hard it is to move on from Dr.B. His bedside manner really sets him apart from other doctors. - But it comes to a point where you just have to do what's best for your family. It's business, not personal. Dr. T has a terrific bedside manner and I was very happy with my experience there with him and his entire staff.

A yr is def a long time and I'm not getting any younger. I hope that DR T is able to work his magic and be able to see something differently.
I am glad Dr T has a good bedside manner. How did you do the monitoring I live and work in Suffolk and my hours are odd 2p-12?

Monitoring can be a schlep but that's a given having to commute into the city. They give you your appt time the day before (you tell them beforehand if you want morning or afternoon). Dr.T is at every appointment and they run extremely efficiently.

I'd often arrive a few mins before my appt time just because of the train schedule getting me there earlier and often I'd be walking out before my appt time even. I never waited more than 10 minutes and was always in and out very quickly. All my experiences there have been pleasant..,,, from Dr.T.. To the nurses... Etc.

That makes a big difference. Well I have to get up early and go.

Thank you again so much for your input you have definitely eased my anxiety. I will keep you posted.
I have my appt with dr Zhang on Monday at New Hope I am already turned off at the fact that he doesnt accept my insurance.
So now I have to wait and see if there are any cancellations at SIRM before March.

Thank you again PennyCat

I don't have experience with thin lining but I did want to say that I had success with Dr. T after many unsuccessful procedures elsewhere. He was truly my miracle worker when I thought there was no hope. He is worth the wait until March. The commuting was stressful but well worth it!

Thanks PennyCat I will definitely.
Babydreams I am so happy that you were successful I will grin and bear at times I feel spoiled for not having a commute but if it's just once or twice a wk I can do it.
You ladies have definitely put my mind and anxiety at ease
